Very odd that it took so long for a missing person report to get filed and then suddenly it was filed basically days before he killed his current GF.

I wonder what led to someone finally filing it after all this time? Had no one truly noticed she was missing until very recently?

A man charged with the gruesome murder of a St. Paul woman is also linked to a missing woman last seen two years ago.

St. Paul Police Sgt. Mike Ernster tells Bring Me The News 33-year-old Fanta Xayavong was last seen with Joseph Jorgenson, 40, who was charged Friday with the murder of his girlfriend, 33-year-old Manijeh "Mani" Starren.

Charges filed Friday allege Jorgenson murdered Starren in mid-April and hid her dismembered body in a storage unit in Woodbury.
 
Now, an investigation has revealed that another woman Fanta Xayavong, 33, was last seen with Jorgenson before she disappeared in July 2021.

'To put it bluntly, we're concerned for her safety also,' Saint Paul Police Sgt. Mike Ernster said at a press conference on Friday.

Xayavong is described as 5-feet-4-inches tall and weighs 120 pounds and her last known location may have been Shoreview, police said.
Xayavong went missing in July 2021, though a missing person report was not filed until May 2023, police said.

There was a possible relationship between Xayavong and Jorgenson when she went missing. Police have renewed calls for information on her case and asked anyone with details to contact authorities.

The woman who managed to escape is really lucky, he tried to strangle and kill her when law enforcement arrived due to the tip and was saved.

I strongly believe they have found other remains in that storage unit, hence the request to the public if anyone is missing who has had contact with him...

Kudos to whoever reported that tip. It likely resulted in the apprehension of a serial killer.
 
So sad that Fanta has been discovered deceased. I can't believe nobody reported her missing for 2 years. That screams red flags. I did my own sleuthing, and it appears she worked at a strip club.Oddly enough, her LinkIn page was visited by a lot of folks with the same last name as he killer.

My 2 cents, and I apologize if this sounds cold. In regards of her not being reported missing, either she has no close family or friends, or... the people close to her are used to her being absent for long periods of time, thus her disappearance didn't ring any alarm bells.

RIP to her and the other victim.

It's actually TWO separate storage units.

The one Mani was put in was just rented May 5, 2023 and was in Woodbury.

A review of Jorgenson’s phone location revealed that his phone had pinged in the area of an iStorage unit located at 881 Weir Drive in Woodbury on May 18, 2023. Someone using NH’s name began renting a storage unit at the facility on May 5, 2023. The code assigned to the unit was used to access the facility on May 18, 2023 at the same time Jorgenson’s phone pinged in the area.

Fanta was found in a Coon Rapid one (plus she the PCA for Mani would have accounted for him moving stuff into the Woodbury storage unit if he'd moved Fanta)

But they better look for any other storage units he's ever had or gotten access to from anyone else or had anyone else rent for him IMO.

I hope a PCA is released for this case, as the first had been so detailed.

I'd be curious if we might find out if there had been any indications Fanta had been noticed being missing prior, etc. I feel so badly it seems that wasn't the case and I'd love to hear that at least someone had noticed, even if not enough was done, it makes me sad to think it's possible that truly no one knew until the other case arose.
