People have been watching the hostage situation unfold at Wells Fargo for hours now in St. Cloud. We have seen at least four people come out of the building, with cheering from the crowd each time.

Four hostages released from Minnesota bank

Police described the hostages as bank employees. It was not clear how many people were being held, but by 9 p.m., four people had been released, police Lt. Lori Ellering said.

Video from the scene showed law enforcement officials in camouflage and helmets and FBI on the behind the bank off to the side of an entrance.

Hostage situation inside St. Cloud, Minnesota, Wells Fargo: police

Several bank employees are being held hostage inside a Wells Fargo bank and police are trying to negotiate their release with the help of the FBI.

Negotiators were working late into the evening - six hours into the standoff - to free all hostages. At least four of the captives had been released as of 8:30 p.m. CT.

It's unclear how many people remain inside the bank.

UPDATE: Suspect in custody after standoff at St. Cloud bank, all hostages safe

“Police say a suspect is in custody after a hostage situation at a Wells Fargo in St. Cloud.

The suspect was seen being led out of the bank shortly before 10:30 p.m.

According to the St. Cloud Police Department, all hostages that were inside the bank are safe and uninjured.”
