from the recording Teaching Peace

Listen...can you hear the sound
Of hearts beating all the world around
Down in the valley, out on the plain
Everywhere around the world a heartbeat sounds the same
Black or white, red or tan
It's the heart of the family of man
Whoa beating away
Whoa beating away
Whoa it's beating away
Listen...can you hear the sound
Of laughter all the world around
High in the mountains, down by the sea
Everywhere around the world laughter sounds the same to me
Black or white, red or tan
It's the heart of the family of man
Whoa laughing away
Whoa laughing away
Whoa laughing away
Oo la la la la la, oo la la la la la
Oo la la la la la, oo la la la la la oh
Oo la la la la la, oo la la la la la
Oo la la la la la, oo la la la la la oh
Listen...can you hear the sound
Of singing all the world around
Walking through the jungle or on a busy city street
Everywhere around the world singing always sounds so sweet
Black or white, red or tan
It's the heart of the family of man
Whoa singing away
Whoa singing away
Whoa singing away

The beauty and love of Jacob. Combating the depravity.

My porch light is on....and that's all I have to say for the rest of the day.

I will try to be more specific with my question. If you were standing on the road at the red dot (abduction spot) could you spot a vehicle sitting 40 yards up the driveway (red dot on right) in the dark of the night? That looks like a great distance to me, especially if you aren't standing there straining to see a vehicle. If you're just passing by and not even looking that direction...?

Call me crazy, but I took a walk tonight to the spot where Jacob was abducted. It’s surprising how dark it gets after you pass Dale Street, even with so many porch lights on in the neighborhood… I almost turned around and headed back home. I can only imagine how much darker it would have been 25 years ago when there would have been less lights to light up the sky. I got to the end of the driveway about 9:15, about the same time that the boys were approached. IF there was a car parked at the red dot where Jacob’s footprint was, there is NO way that I would have been able to see it. (That is to say if the red dot is placed at the correct spot)

x JW abduction site overhead photo.jpg x Jacob W Crime Scene.jpg

I'm sure hoping these pictures take; I planned the one I'm calling the Large photo on the left and the smaller photo on the right. The Large photo is a copy of one on previous recent posts.

I've been working on this post for a little while now, and coincidentally, it seems that Matthew just posted a few mins ago, and what he's saying is what I also agree with; I just tried to really spell it out, from the perspective of someone who has not been to the actual area.

This is kind of a two purpose post: I'm asking if my perspective on the N/S/E/W of the area as seen in photos is correct; then I'm trying to make a point about whether any vehicle was seen up DR's driveway. I hope it makes sense, and I hope the pictures work.

Hi, looking for clarification, verification, possibly agreement.

The Large picture is showing North (top) and South (bottom); correct(?).

DR's place/driveway to the right is East. Smaller driveway like spot across street to left is West.

The Wetterling house is South of DR's toward (beyond) bottom of picture and Tom Thumb's is North, toward (beyond) top of picture

Coming home from Tom Thumb's, Jacob, Trevor and Aaron were traveling south toward Wetterling's and when they were stopped, DR's driveway was on their left and just up the road a bit, and the small drive like spot across the street is to their right, and they were stopped just before this; and this is where they laid down their bikes, and this is where they laid face down in the grass/ditch, and this is where Aaron and Trevor ran somewhat South/West, toward the Wetterling's and away from DR's place. This is my understanding; is this all correct/accurate so far?

Actually, if you look at the Large picture; where it says 16th Ave SE, if you think of the "A" in Ave as a pointer, pointing to the left, then I'm thinking that it would be pointing kind or right at the spot, where the boys and their bikes laid down.

With perspective; the smaller picture is a little better graphic. The kids were stopped before they reached DR's drive way and they ended up laying down and laying their bikes down across the street from DR's in the smaller drive and to the north of that drive. This is where the crime scene photos show the bikes. This location, I would say is the primary crime scene; DR's driveway didn't become a part of the crime scene, until Jacob was taken, across the street, and 40 yards up DR's driveway. This spot where the kids sere stopped and they and the bikes were laid down is across the street from and before they reached DR's driveway. Also, they were confronted by a masked gunman, in the dark. I personally say that it's way, way more likely than not, that they weren't looking up DR's driveway and any glance in that direction, would more likely Not spot a vehicle parked 40 yards up, in the dark (especially a dark colored vehicle). And, frankly, they really didn't have the vantage point for that. Personally, I don't think that because Trevor and Aaron reported that they did not see any vehicle, that it can be concluded that there was no vehicle in DR's driveway. Also, there's also a possibility of another accomplice who was driving, who could have been more than 40 yrds up the drive at the time of the actual abduction, then, came forward after the other boys had run away. I personally think that there is Nothing from LE that can give us anything specific/conclusive about tire tracks on the driveway.

Thank you for your eyes on input. I may have to take another look for myself. Kevin put a vehicle on the driveway and our POI put one there too, but there is no direct evidence of that one.

"Call me crazy, but I took a walk tonight...." I think if I had gone to take that walk (tonight) I would have taken a Bright Flashlight, a Camera, and a Gun!!! However, I don't own a gun.

LOL... it was a last minute decision as I was finishing up my usual walk, otherwise I might have brought a camera. I'm not sure a photo would have done too much justice, though, as far as whether a vehicle would have been visible since the light a camera takes in can differ quite a bit from what the human eye can. There was one car that passed by going southbound just when I started heading back... I probably freaked them out.

That sounds accurate to me. I've never been completely sure as to which direction the boys initially ran since they were told to run to the woods and I think southwest would have been field. We know they did run home though, which would have been southwest.

Please explain why LE pretty much eliminated a car when Kevin came forward?

The car would have had to back up-- highly unlikely on a dark driveway or it would have had to drive to the house and come back down the driveway.

So we have Kevin's car and the mysterious car with a child and woman.

No need to mention any of that though when talking to LE and they say there was a kidnapping at the end of the driveway.

Perhaps LE would have gotten more response if they had mentioned that there were wood thieves out. Now that would have been IMPORTANT!

Driving up a driveway and parking on a driveway that is so narrow that if the homeowner came out in a car, one would be BUSTED!

To me , the whole scene is ludicrous,

Thanks, I've been having a hard time for a while, with, which is N/S, etc.., and which way the boys were traveling in regards to various pictures, I think that just tonight, by the time I actually posted that, I was fairly confident, but, interested if anyone more familiar with the area, and/or, the whole scenario, could let me know. I'm pretty sure, that the way the kids were running was S/W from a few things. Also, I think the directions were to 'run towards the woods' and there was quite a bit of field, before they would have even come to the woods. Thanks a lot! Also, I really agree with your earlier post, even without having been around there, I just don't think that it could be counted on that they would have necessarily seen a vehicle.

Actually, the Camera and the Gun I was thinking about were in case the Perp decided to re-visit the scene, 25 yrs later, at 9:15; even though there have been other anniversaries; this one is getting Much, National Attention!

I wonder if LE was watching to see if anyone revisted the scene?

Personally, to me, the concept that LE automatically discounted a vehicle being involved, when they heard from Kevin; is Completely Bogus!!! Makes no sense to me at all, and frankly, I don't think any other combination of circumstances can even come close to ruling out that a vehicle was used. Following that; the whole issue of cars in/or Not in the driveway is a pretty complex subject, with pretty much area for speculation; but, also with not much of anything solid that we, or anyone, has to go by. I'm personally, not ready to speculate on that just yet.

It would be interesting to see the full raw footage of the interview with DR to see exactly what was said before/after that part of the conversation. Sort of like the Fox9 raw footage tape with Aaron. It was nice to hear the full conversation and everything in proper context. And the most obvious part...it would be nice to hear the actual 911 call that LE never saved! Arrggh.

Has DR ever retained a lawyer in regards to this case?

I've heard absolutely Nothing concerning DR having Ever retained counsel! And, some of his interview have been relatively recent!

DR could have a lawyer friend who advocates for him behind the scenes. But not one that appears in public for him. I'm sure he must know some lawyers through his many marathons, etc.
