Hmmm....why would a priest do this as he already has ready access to children-is that what you're saying? (I think Jared's perp had some sophistication). And since according to you, only 'socially advanced' pedophiles would groom their victims, then it must be DAH or possibly bahner....the bottom scum of society. I agree w/you, chaplain1. While I don't think the possibility of a "priest as JW's abductor" should be completely discounted, I don't see it as the most likely explanation for the reasons you touched on- it's just not their usual m.o.

I remain stuck on who else knew DR's parents would be in Europe. Did they also think DR was away and the house empty?
I don't think DR is the perp but I remain stuck on a possible connection to his parents being away and some kind of rogue farmhand/mechanic (perhaps with a love for hockey?!)

This was a municipal arena, which it still is. I don't think there would have been volunteer monks working there. Driving a zamboni takes a lot of knowledge - back then and now. Also, clearing a sheet of ice isn't that easy. As to a janitor, usually at a rink/arena, the zamboni driver does it all. He is an employee. (I played hockey back then.)

I wonder if all the ice rink employees were fully checked out. A zamboni driver could arguably stealthily hide a vehicle while laying in wait for a victim (Jacob) and drive so as to try and confuse/disorient a victum (Jared)

Why would a zamboni driver be able to drive so as to confuse anyone? Zambonis are very, very slow vehicles - driven about 10mph - not at all driven like a car. Most zamboni drivers don't watch games - too busy with other things at the rink.

Hey, it's just an observation/idea. We don't know that all of the people at the rink were fully checked out (at least not that I know) but we DO know that Mr. Wetterling had an eerie feeling at the hockey rink just before Jacob went missing
