Jewelia--you have info we dont, the stuff I have seen from DM wasn't compelling. If she has better material, she needs to get on social media with Joy!

I get it, but it's up to her to contact social media. LE has been made aware, and that's about all that can be done. If Joy was interested, I'm sure she'd find a way to contact DM. ;)

Couldn't she just send it to Patty?

What kind of information will LE be required to release after the 30 year anniversary? Someone has to request those records, and the what must they release?

Subd. 7. Criminal investigative data.

Except for the data defined in subdivisions 2, 3, and 6, investigative data collected or created by a law enforcement agency in order to prepare a case against a person, whether known or unknown, for the commission of a crime or other offense for which the agency has primary investigative responsibility are confidential or protected nonpublic while the investigation is active. Inactive investigative data are public unless the release of the data would jeopardize another ongoing investigation or would reveal the identity of individuals protected under subdivision 17. Photographs which are part of inactive investigative files and which are clearly offensive to common sensibilities are classified as private or nonpublic data, provided that the existence of the photographs shall be disclosed to any person requesting access to the inactive investigative file. An investigation becomes inactive upon the occurrence of any of the following events:
(a) a decision by the agency or appropriate prosecutorial authority not to pursue the case;
(b) expiration of the time to bring a charge or file a complaint under the applicable statute of limitations, or 30 years after the commission of the offense, whichever comes earliest; or
(c) exhaustion of or expiration of all rights of appeal by a person convicted on the basis of the investigative data.
Any investigative data presented as evidence in court shall be public. Data determined to be inactive under clause (a) may become active if the agency or appropriate prosecutorial authority decides to renew the investigation.
During the time when an investigation is active, any person may bring an action in the district court located in the county where the data are being maintained to authorize disclosure of investigative data. The court may order that all or part of the data relating to a particular investigation be released to the public or to the person bringing the action. In making the determination as to whether investigative data shall be disclosed, the court shall consider whether the benefit to the person bringing the action or to the public outweighs any harm to the public, to the agency or to any person identified in the data. The data in dispute shall be examined by the court in camera.

That is only part of the statute. What is the rest? The qualifiers and exemptioms?

HJM lived in Ohio until 1981 until he moved to Georgia. He moved from Woodstock Ga. to Davenport, Iowa in 1984. He attended Palmer Chiropractic School until 1986-87. He moved to Chicago around 1987.

He is a dead ringer for the sketch, and that's about it, and I called NCMEC. They had me send everything in to them that I had......documents, photos, arrest reports etc. They forwarded everything to the appropriate parties. A reporter took an interest, and I have no idea what she's done, if anything. The only possible connection to him being in that area, is that he went to the same Chiropractic School Jerry Wetterling went to. They may have known each other though alumni activity.......who knows.

I contacted SCSO more recently, and the only thing they had in a file on HJM were photos. I do think other states may be investigating him. There's 4 suspicious deaths....2 were past Ohio victims (one in 1982), and one was a young man from Iowa (Nov.1986), and the other one died just 6 days after he was exposed as a serial pedophile (Nov. 2012).

Seems like quite a stretch from Chicago to St. joe.

No, that is where he lived at the time.

There are 5000 to choose from in MN.why go all the way to Chicago to find an offender?

And big cities have tons of unspervised children. Lots of easy choices. Why go for a child that would cause an uproar?

Good observation..... I think four states (Ohio, Iowa, Illinois, and Georgia) investigating him is enough; why add another? He's a crazed loose cannon, capable of extreme violence. Hopefully Illinois can pin him down.

NCMEC sent what I sent to them to the appropriate parties in Stearns County, and Minneapolis FBI in September. I think it's a stretch also, and I have no idea what they're doing with HJM.

I'm focused on LK. It's up to LE to check into this. The ball has been hit into their court.

Jewelia--
Has DM met with Patty? Does Jerry know about his classmate HJM?

The other folk that would want incriminating info from DM is DR and his family.

I don't know. They didn't go during the same years. HJM never graduated. That's all I could find out from Palmer Chiropractic School. Student information isn't public record. He also worked for a Dr. Holmburg.... Or so he said when deposed.

Wetterling gratuated in 1978. He may have known him through alumni activity. I doubt it though. HJM attended there from 1981-1986.... I'm sure LE could find out.

There's no real point, as I don't think he was there. There's just not enough to place him there.

HJM is not a person of interest.

As I interpret it, the 30 years has no bearing on this case at all

Inactive investigative data are public
An investigation becomes inactive upon the occurrence of any of the following events:
(a) a decision by the agency or appropriate prosecutorial authority not to pursue the case;
(b) expiration of the time to bring a charge or file a complaint under the applicable statute of limitations, or 30 years after the commission of the offense, whichever comes earliest;

A case becomes inactive 30 years after the commission of the offense. Which in turn makes it available to the public... Not sure how else that can be interpreted...

I do not want to go through this point by point, but start reading the ordiance you posted fromthe beginning. Maybe a lawyer such as Mossad can chime in?

Do you think HJM paid LK and the Bahners?

No. As I said, he's not a POI. That's taking the whole HJM thing to a different layer, when the first layer isn't even there.
