Nice article, thanks!
Strange that Josh went missing the weekend following his successful mock trial, coincidentally/ oddly, imo. Jesse Ross, 19, also went missing after attending a mock UN conference.Jesse Warren Ross – The Charley Project fwiw, imo.

"I rode with Josh Guimond and Nick Hydukovich, co-captains of the team going to Macalester. They were already dressed in suits at 5 p.m. on Friday, ready to compete in that evening's round.

Josh was punctual, and I recall hurrying to his car as he was looking at his watch. On the way to the tournament, he told me that he wanted me to be a reference for the Truman Scholarship for which he would soon be applying. I was happy for him, and I sensed he had concrete plans for his future — though he was still a junior in college.

That weekend the team performed well, led by the indomitable combination of Nick and Josh. It seemed they were mentoring the other team members to perform their best as well."
"The next weekend, I was busy unpacking and setting up my new house. I didn't turn on the television once because I was busy getting ready to host a book club on that Monday, Veterans Day, Nov. 11.

My guests were at my house that evening when I got a phone call from some mock trial students. They told me Josh had not been seen since he left a party at Metten Court apartments on St. John's campus on Saturday night, Nov. 9"

So I was just reading a memo from Stearns County sheriff to Josh's Dad that outlined all the avenues the sheriff's dept. explored in its effort to find Josh. But what do you know, the very people who, in my opinion, should have been questioned were not mentioned at all. Josh and his peers were surrounded by known sex offenders, yet these perpetrators were not interviewed nor were their alibis obtained How can this be? To my way of thinking, this obvious avoidance of pursuing potentially pertinent information was unprofessional and unethical. Unfair and tragic. APM Reports Documents

Just wondering if there is still a billboard up with the missing poster of Josh.

We know at least two priests were questioned fairly early in the investigation. Fr Wollmering has also been interviewed multiple times. They probably should have conducted many many more interviews, but at least a handful were done that we know of.

I do not believe so, be perhaps other fellow Stearns County residents can confirm this for us.

Can anyone link me to the user that claimed to have witnessed the incinerator being used on an off day at SJU? Or better yet, contact info if you know who this individual is?

I have not seen one. The most information I have seen is the missing person flier down in Life Safety at SJU.

DarkJodo, regarding the incinerator, I don't know who the witness was that observed the incinerator being used off schedule when Joshua went missing. I also don't know who was responsible for running the incinerator -- or how many people had the ability to access and use it. I hope one of the websleuths on this forum with direct knowledge about this witness will communicate with you -- either here or via a private message. If in fact the incinerator was being used off schedule, I would like to believe the sheriff's department would have examined that. But who am I kidding

I discovered that the origin of this statement cam from Jim Rothstein, the Guimond's private investigator in 2003. He was interviewing an unknown person and they made the statement "IF Josh was killed by someone on campus, he likely would have been burned in the incinerator". Rothstein also did not have any witnesses that he had spoken to that had any direct knowledge of anything about the incinerator being used on an off day.

For the time being, until we can verify with the actual witness, I think we should consider the "incinerator being used on an off day" theory as unsubstantiated and a rumor.

But I would agree that is how it would have been done. As far as getting rid of a body.

Sure, but when we start presenting opinions as facts, we start going down a slippery slope.

This young lady is apparently a friend of the family and makes the statement that several of Josh's classmates were never questioned. I imagine there were a lot of folks that were never questioned though. joshua guimond | Nerdy Woman

I think unless the sheriffs Dept is willing to dig deeper into the alibis of the monks and talk to a wider range of Josh’s friends, and/or Josh’s body is found, this case isn’t going to be solved. The more time that passes, the lower the chances of uncovering the truth. Time has always been on St.John’s side.

Hello friends - I am wondering if any of you have came across any video footage of the 11/14/02 press conference at the MN State Capital in any of your research. PM or reply if you have.

Also - bumping for Josh. 16 years now.

What was the conference about?

What was the conference about?

It was Josh's family and the families of three other missing students, Chris Jenkins, Erika Dahlquist and Michael Noll. It was made to encourage the Department of Public Safety to form a statewide missing persons task force.
