No body generally means there is no case

Best hope at this point is that a person or persons in the community who may have consorted in some way with the perpetrator will decide to speak. But then that would probably require a miracle in which they develop an actual conscience. I believe Josh's grandfather has alluded to unidentified individual(s) wanting to pay him off to drop his pursuit of answers. Why is it that in this relatively small locale there are several high profile cases that have never been solved? Other than the abbey, what are the common denominators in these longstanding unsolved cases?

"The Rev. Thomas Andert, the prior at St. John’s Abbey in Collegeville, has been removed from his leadership position following an allegation of student sex abuse.

The allegation was made in a letter by a former student at St. John’s Preparatory School, where Andert served as headmaster from 1988 to 1994. It alleges abuse about three decades ago. The abbey is not providing details of the complaint."

Are there any male hookers or other unsavory type characters in town who may have spent time hanging around the school at the time Joshua went missing?
Why would Joshua in particular be targeted when there were so many other males there?
Was somebody jealous of his popularity, or did someone who may have been s. assaulted but not willing to report it, try and bring attention to the problem by " sacrificing ' Joshua???
imo, speculation, ect.

Metten Court Apartments (where Josh was last seen) had bathrooms in each apartment. Why would witnesses assume he was going to the bathroom when he was leaving the apartment? Are the bathroom and apartment doors close together?

dotr, information from the family's website findjosh.com, indicated Josh was writing a term paper on Catholic Priest Sex Abuse scandal and researched the statute of limitations. There was also a fake id making program on it. I am thinking SJSU was on a computer network where an administrator can see what is being posted on the computer like my computers are at work. Our administrators can see what we are doing, what websites we visit, etc.

Could it be that the fake id program was more threatening to others than the sex scandal?

I am not sure at this point. All the people the program connected to were students of the school and another school.

Please visit my new blog about Josh's disappearance and message me with any info you may have about this case!

Very nice!

This case just baffles me. Here we have a grown man, who could probably fight off a stranger, just vanish into thin air without a single clue or witness. I tend to believe he knew the person who took him, either by accepting a ride or walking somewhere nearby with them.

I am very suspicious of the computer getting wiped clean after-the-fact, and of the one person who they did not/could not interview from the party.

and the prefect (resident faculty who lives in the dorm) and 13 other monks on campus have had credible allegations of relationships with new monks, students of the university and students of the elementary/prep school. Josh was researching the Catholic sex abuse scandal for a research paper.

and BW's suspicious death and sealed room, and the incinerator rumor (which I actually heard floating around within a few weeks of his disappearance!)

Do you know where the entrance to Maur House is? I'm trying to determine if there was an entrance facing parking lot #9 or if he had to walk all the way around. I might be out there this weekend for the big football game, I will have to look closer at his dorm building.

I don't believe he made it that far, but I'm wondering if he usually cut across the parking lot or walked along the road.

I can check shay. Google images of Maur House St Johns Collegeville. I have requested a FOIA letter regarding that search of the sealed room and the only response I have received is from the County Attorney telling me they forwarded my request to Stearns County Law enforcement. That was a month ago.
I am starting to think that Josh may not have left the party or may not have left it alone. He walked to the party with two roommates which was never reported. Party attendees have different versions of times and reasons why he left the party.

That would make sense but what about the group of witnesses who saw him on or near the bridge heading towards his dorm? It will be interesting to see if you get anywhere with Stearns County :eyeroll:

shay, did you get out there for the game and figure out your question? It looks like that dorm may have patio doors to the outside for the ground floor apartments and a main door for the other apartments. I haven't really been able to see the building from all sides.

No, my friend was not able to get us tickets to the game. I'm going to drive through there this week and snap a picture of the dorm bldg from the parking lot.

too bad. I guess they broke the record for Division III attendance. They probably wouldn't have minded someone wandering around. Especially if some of the priests may have been in NY for the pope.
