latest news here at noon indicate that Harrity (partner) says something about a situation like that you have to be worried about an "ambush"...."ambush" by a woman in pj's and some kids shooting fireworks. I repeat this is a very quiet neighborhood and I get if these cops had been in another area of our city but that thought is not even rational on this call. There have been 911 releases and other documents so I assume as they come out in public we will hear.

Supposedly she was shot through a door, so it must mean she had reached the car window and was not a distance away, so they had to be able to see her.

Yes, hopefully the victim is ok. Obviously Justine saw and heard a victim. That is undisputed.

Was the victim located/assisted at that time? Has anyone talked with the victim?

So now the police say there were sounds of fireworks ?
Hellooo.... the 4th of July is long over. No one was lighting fireworks now.
That is over and done with around July 5th by the latest !

So, who is lying ? Noor, his partner--- or the entire Minneapolis PD ??

Something is very very wrong ; with an entire deceptive police dept.

One bad cop I can certainly understand. But all of them ? Why would the police dept. issue a statement about fireworks when it never happened ? When the holiday for setting off fireworks is long over ?

Pretty sad situation when a law enforcement division can no longer be trusted to even tell the truth !!!

I am losing faith in law enforcement. I am losing my respect for them.

Was Justine on the phone with 9-11 the entire time? Usually 911 will tell people not to venture outside when police are on the way. I wonder if 911 heard the entire incident.

It'd be wise for the victim to come forward-- you can do this without revealing your identity.
It would help expose this Minneapolis police dept. for what they are. Liars.

She was 5-6 houses down from her house, she was outside.
Obviously trying to help the victim, I'd assume !

I see, so she was outside when she called 911. Usually, 911 will tell people to not intervene and to go in the house as police are on the way. I have heard all sorts of things. I have heard that she was shot at the end of her driveway, somewhere else on her street near her home, and in the alley.

Fireworks are very common, regardless of the date being long past July 4. What statement did Mpls police issue regarding fireworks?

What percentage of people here think that there should be a different requirement for an officer to shoot at an unknown person rather than a known dangerous person? The reason I ask is because I get the feeling threatened defense when trying to stop or arrest someone that has a history of violence but I don’t get just being free to shoot and kill someone that startles you or acting odd.

The transcript of the 911 call an Australian woman made moments before she was shot and killed by Minneapolis police is expected to be released Wednesday. This comes as one of the officer’s attorneys says “it’s reasonable to assume an officer in that situation would be concerned about a possible ambush.”

Sounds like the "ambush" is coming from Harrity's lawyer.

Dispatch audio shows that there was a report of a female “behind the building.” Then, a report of “shots fired” and “one down.” The audio references that the sound of what may have been aerial fireworks in the area was also heard.

So, the woman seen behind the building was Justine? Apparently she was not shot from a distance, but through the police car door. So, if it was Justine behind the building, they must have seen her as she walked toward them to the car window. Too much info is missing.

I think it should be a different requirement.

I am a law abiding person with no arrests and not even a speeding ticket for 15 years, but I am very cautious about police and I am afraid when they stop me.

I think that that was what Justine said in the 911 call. That there was screaming coming from behind the building.

I honestly feel that neither one should be a cop or be able to keep their job.
If a loud sound startles them they should turn in their badges.

Years ago my dad (cop) brought home a shepard that was startled by gun
fire, he failed the test. We kept him.

I would disagree...often people shoot off left over fireworks long after the 4th...we have all kinds of celebrations all summer here that include fireworks...that is simply not unusual nor a reason for a trained office to shoot

Yes, so it might have been the assault victim they were seeing. I suppose it's not known from which direction Justine came to the police the car and whether they saw her walking up. I am so confused.

Any more information on the victim in the alley who Justine Damond initially called to report about?

news reporter asked about that and at this point they are saying there was no one found in that block.
