My understanding is that the shotspotter system isn't 100% accurate. For instance fireworks or a car backfiring could activate the system.

That's correct but it sure could rule out if there was a loud sound prior to the officer's weapon being fired.

No.

Medical attention is what has been reported.

Harrity told investigators that after the shooting, the officers got out of the squad and gave Damond immediate medical attention.

not true - numerous MSM sources have reported that the officers performed CPR....it is even mentioned in the audio recording from dispatch

http://www.news.com.au/world/north-...d/news-story/30c1f5b983567d8f1abdc71e3e63da93

"But we do have audio of the moment around the fatal shooting. The officers are heard speaking with their dispatcher over the police radio. They call for back-up and their attempts to perform CPR on Ms Damond are heard."

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/art...op-Noor-tells-story-Justine-startled-him.html

"Both he and Harrity gave CPR to the victim before help and back up arrived, but she was pronounced dead at the scene."

Maybe that is what killed her.

It may not matter but my previous link was what Harrity said not what the news reported, not sure which is correct.

Maybe that is what killed her.

Where are you getting your info? To suggest that the cops performing CPR on her is the cause of death?

She died from a gunshot wound to the abdomen, according to the coroner's report.

I feel like I'm in a twilight zone......MOO

Harrity told investigators they exited the vehicle to give immediate medical attention. That is the what I am going on. I am not eluding to what that means, unlike news sources that will and do elaborate. I don't know if they attempted CPR or just tried to stop the bleeding. I don't think anyone but Harrity & Noor knows what they did.

I just cannot visualize how this happened. There is a body/person walking towards a car, headlights are on, could the occupants not be able to see that it was a female in PJ’s? Regardless of any loud noise that was heard?
She had to have been in those headlights for however long it took her to get to the driver’s side window which was down. I can’t get the photo of Justine and Don out of my mind. They look so happy.
I just cannot think of any scenario that would give this policeman the right to shoot her. Again another innocent life has ended.

She does know what she is talking about. I have an emergency medical background myself and in patients with multiple or large puncture wounds CPR is not going to achieve much and could possibly exacerbate blood loss. Priority #1 is to control the bleeding IMO

But, why were they even trying to save her life is my question? In the numerous other killings by cop we have seen over the past few years the cops leave them bleeding on the ground and usually handcuff them. The posters who usually take the side of the cop always tell us that is protocol and they are not allowed to offer any life saving measures.

Strange, I know!

They tried to save her life because it's policy.

Medical Assistance: As soon as reasonably practical, determine if anyone was injured and render medical aid consistent with training and request Emergency Medical Service (EMS) if necessary.

K_Z said absolutely not. Still waiting to hear if K_Z is a medical doctor or not as many here believe she is.

Any angle he tries to take regarding being wary of an ambush or anything like that is BS in my opinion - this is a mostly white, affluent area of South Minneapolis with a housing average of over 400k - all of the heavy gang activity is the north/east. He also has a taser and plenty of training (all Minneapolis PD must go through an academy). I believe he was paranoid and thought this figure had a gun - it may not be wise to ever run up to a police car and lean towards the window, but that is besides the point - it is homicide and he has to pay for it. It would be in their best interest to cut him loose and make an example of him JMO. The Minneapolis PD has a great chief and a lot of good cops and deals with a statistically high amount of violent crime - I hate to see all the sweeping generalizations here about police. Keep in mind the guy that shot Castille was a St. Anthony patrol officer (a suburb north of the city with pretty bad crime rate), not a Minneapolis city cop. I have family that comes from Mpls PD so am a little extra sensitive to them getting bashed as a whole. This tragedy was brought out by Noor and noone else. If he gets off, blame the judicial system.

Well the deputy chief did say they now put emphasis on sanctity of life in their training. So it appears they back that up in their policies. On paper at least!

It is the right thing to do regardless of who the victim is. But that doesn't seem to be policy nationwide.

If you listen to the audio you can clearly hear someone saying, "starting CPR". Primary evidence.....no need to rely on statements, however "first aid" and "medical attention" don't exclude CPR

I didn't see in the article or for that matter anywhere that the officer's pumped on her chest.

It's extremely clear in the police scanner and it's been mentioned in many MSM articles

His neighbors didn't seem to like him

He is a little jumpy… he doesn't really respect women.'

He also said Noor has had issues with children playing in the playground near where he lives.

'He has an air like you couldn't really be around him,' Mr Miller added.

I hope we hear more from his neighbors about the kind of person he was. It's unlikely his fellow officers will step out of line and mention any problems Noor had with temperament and dislike of women.

It appears that medical aid was administered in this situation. I wish all the other policies were followed. FWIW - CPR was also administered on Philando Castile. This seems to be one policy that's followed and not just on paper.
