Will there also be tests done on the one responsible for ending Justine's life.

Wondering the same thing

Have both officers submitted to alcohol and drug testing? That should be mandatory for any officer involved shooting . Let's hope they have, but I wouldn't be surprised if they haven't .

They'll never 'win' this case. The best he can do is a plea bargain IMO. Even people who are pro-LE aren't coming up with any kind of a defense for this guy. Because there is none.

If recent history is an indicator, he will sadly not be convicted of any crime. Happens all the time, most recently in the case of Philandro Castille. Also Tamir Rice, etc.

If Noor's defense attorney selects a jury of pro-LE jurors, I would think most of them would empathize with Noor's partner Officer Matthew Harrity. Officer Harrity would have been shocked when Noor's fire-arm discharged across the front of him - - shooting Ms Damond. Officer Harrity would have realized he was lucky he wasn't shot as well. Now Noor has lawyered-up and has left Officer Harrity to do the talking.
Afterthought......Officer Matthew Harrity has become somewhat of a victim here as well.

Too many of these types of incidences where LE shoot innocent people unjustifiably IMO. As i asked yesterday how are these people being trained? This seriously needs to be looked at IMO.
I thought LE had tasers as an alternative to prevent shooting and killing innocent people?

All cases are different---especially this one. This woman did NOTHING to warrant being shot and killed. He's going to prison, the only question is for how long. I'll bet the farm on it.

Actually I think you may be right. The aftermath of this particular shooting isn't going the way other shootings have gone. As has already been mentioned in earlier pages the silence is deafening. Everyone is stunned but no-one is speaking in defense of Noor. The Police Union is keeping out of it. I think you may be right -- he is probably going to prison, the only question is for how long. I think your farm is quite safe....:D

Yep, like the juror in the Philandro Castille said, "I just hope that they realize that we didn't go by it lightly. We did not favor the cop, we just felt that the state did not prove their case,". Of course when you believe that the police can do no wrong, it's going to be impossible for the prosecutor to prove their case.

Their training is simple. Officer safety is paramount. Nothing else matters. Do whatever you have to do to go home safe, and that is what they do.

sorry that I made a leap...I think I am going to refrain from commenting here...it is sort of intense and critical if things are worded perfectly. Lets hope the family can get some answers.

Hi turaj, I certainly understand if you choose to stop, BUT I really really hope you choose to stay, I enjoy your pots very much :)

Isn't smearing the victim standard operating procedure for criminal defense attorneys???

I will hold on to my opinion of Noor’s lawyer until I see how he treats the victim.

I'm trying to remember the number of rounds fired by Moor. I understand one round struck Ms Damond but for some reason I'm thinking more then one round was fired. Can anyone help me with the actual number of rounds fired? Thanks.

I don't believe we have that information yet. Initial reports were that Noor fired "multiple shots", but coroner stated that Justine died from one gunshot wound to the abdomen. Add it to the list of unanswered questions.....MOO

The number of rounds fired ,for me, will clear up accidental discharge of the weapon. If more then one round fired, it was NOT an accidental discharge. I don't think it was accidental but if only one round fired, that leaves it open to discussion. Thanks.

Isn't he already questioning if Justine had Ambien in her system? Thought i read that a few pages ago on the thread.

Yes, he is. I can't imagine what he could do with that info. There's no indication she did anything untoward.

YEP! What will he do with that, IF it is in her system. Hint about other "stuff" in Justine's system?

I don't think they'll find anything. IMO, he's proactively tainting the jury pool, because he's got nothing. Victim blaming is so ugly, and it usually happens when defense attorneys know they're up the creek.

JMO.
