well clearly no one stayed on the line with Justine...in fact she had to call back. Not sure if this call escalated to the level of them having to stay on? She clearly was staying inside at least to make the second call and my guess is she did not exit until she saw the squad car at which time she felt safe. Big mistake!

I was thinking about that too when i read it, that they didn't stay on the line with her because the dispatch person took all the relevant information from her and told her LE were on the way. There was no greatly distressed person on the phone and dispatch probably didn't feel the situation warranted staying on the line to keep her calm. Probably different if you have just been in an accident and where the person calling 911 has been injured.

Have you listened to the call...she was talking to a dispatch (call center) the call clearly indicates they are looking for a possible rape/assault with woman making noise...I think going thru the alley in the car first makes sense and I assume they were expecting to hear the noise as per the call. When they did not then they should have gotten out...what is alarming is they told dispatch the code for all clear more or less and it remains to be told were they just going to leave (as Justine obviously thought) or did they have plans to go to her house and look around more carefully? Remember this is Sat. night and I bet they get many calls from people reporting all sorts of things most of which turn out to be absolutely nothing. But they have a duty to approach every scene as if it were critical.....again the best we can hope for here is for Harrity to tell the truth and maybe some audio in the car?

BBM, Is there audio version of her call, i have only managed to find the Transcripts that have been posted up? If there is an audio version could you please post a link? TIA.

Being it was a Sat. night i hope it wasn't some stupid kids hanging out in the alley screaming for the fun of it, imagine how they would feel now knowing what happened?
I wish the person that knew about the screaming Justine heard comes forward with that info. because that would solve that puzzle at least.

BBM, My guess is they were looking for where the screaming was coming from that Justine told 911 she was hearing in the alley.

Were they looking for an assault victim? As I said, the person could be prone, injured.

It appears it was 12 mins from the call? Did they get out of the car and look around for a dead or injured victim? What did the dispatch tell them was going on?

i would have to see the timeline again but they were not in the actual area very long...12 minutes is the time it took to get there from the call...so you take that minus the time they said "one down" and I believe it was very short so yes they moved thru the alley fairly quickly but probably still slow enough to hear the reported noises.

I also wonder about a 4 year degree in business? How would a business degree qualify one to work in LE? Hopefully changes will be made to require a Criminal Justice 101 class along with “any” type of 4 year degree, plus training.

The call center makes a determination on what should be said. What did they tell the officers? An assault victim could have been in the last throes of life for all the officers know.

The whole thing is bizarre. Altnough one time we called LE and reported that the teen neighbor boy and his friend were hitting the little sister age three . They were banging her head in a car hood. Hubby went over there but LE never came. Won't go more into the story, but I have found LE to not be very responsive many times. Won't go into the numerous different issues, some of them having to do with garbage thrown by the scenic drive we live by. .

it is possible that neighbors have spoken with LE and solved the mystery of what they heard...even if it is embarassing to them...I am guessing there is a logical explanation for what she heard...strange things happen in alleys all the time...not necessarily criminally related.

the degree in business put him in the shorted training program. One must consider that they are simply not getting high quality perfect candidates waiting in line for these jobs. They have to train and recruit to get bodies on the street and the result is a less than well trained or motivated force. Many of these guys are doing this for lack of any other job that will train them. Sad but true.

Maybe Harrity & Noor didn't but i'm thinking the area would of been searched some after Justine was shot? But if not, no one has found any victim laying around there anywhere. Wonder what that alley looks like? Is it somewhere a body could be concealed by vegetation if out there injured?

sorry her call is transcript...the dispatch is audio

Thanks. Haven't heard the dispatch audio? Unless it's the one i posted up earlier?

Yes, that's true. And Justine wasn't really sure what she was hearing either, other than what sounded like a female screaming.

My point is, why were Haniity and Noor not looking for a dead or injured victim? Driving though an alley trying to hear sounds is no good if the victim is unconscious or dead.

I am talking about what the possibility could have been that night, not what we know today.

BBM, Perhaps they were to go looking and were intercepted by Justine trying to get their attention as they were investigating, and we know from there what happened unfortunately.

I mean, if it was me in their position, I would probably do a preliminary quick drive by to see if I could spot the source right away, if I didn't find anything then I would talk to the 911 caller to see if they could provide further insight.

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — A timeline of the July 15 fatal shooting of Justine Damond, an unarmed Australian woman, by a Minneapolis police officer, and ensuing events:

11:27 p.m. — Justine Damond calls 911 to report hearing sounds of distress from a girl or woman behind her house. She says it may be a rape. A dispatcher says officers should arrive soon.

11:35 p.m. — Damond calls 911 again to ask why police haven’t arrived yet. She gives the dispatcher address again.

11:41 p.m. — Officers Matthew Harrity and Mohamed Noor arrive and drive south down the alley behind Damond’s house. Harrity, who is driving, is startled by a loud noise near his squad car. Damond approaches the driver’s side window immediately afterward, and Noor fires his gun past Harrity, striking Damond through that window of the vehicle, according to Harrity in an interview with state investigators.

11:42 p.m. — Radio report of one person down, starting CPR.

So where in this timeline did the officers get the time to get out of their vehicle to go searching for a possible victim?

I'm wondering if the woman that Justine heard was still screaming at 11:35 when she called the second time wondering why LE hadn't showed up. If so, that would would be 8 minutes of screaming. I can see why she was distressed and wanting LE to get there ASAP. I wonder if it was going on that long, if any other neighbors called the police.

They were obviously scoping it out in the vehicle first. Then Justine showed up. Were they supposed to park at the end of the alley and walk up and down?

Did they say they got out of their vehicle and searched? I must have missed that part.
