Damn. Break in and take her into custody for WHAT? I've been way to close to a similar situation and it really makes me angry.

moo

i don't know other than I think they took her to be evaluated for mental concerns which apparently are well documented. It may have been a situation where they felt she was a danger to herself.

I'm in agreement that race shouldn't be brought into this. He is free to give his side of the story, which he has chosen not to do. When/if it goes to trial, then the jury/judge will decide guilt or innocence.
I am usually of the belief that an officer will not just shoot a person for no reason. With our current history, they have to know they are more likely than ever to be held accountable. Was he just that nervous, jittery, on edge? If yes, then he shouldn't have been a cop. I'd really like to hear more of what his partner has said.
When you are looking for a criminal or a victim in an alley, a woman in pj's shouldn't have looked like a threat.
I eager to hear these 2 cops accounts
Just MOO

BBM
What current history would make us feel as though they are more likely than ever to be held accountable? Have you seen any recent cases where LE were held accountable?

I think there is an attempt to hold them accountable. But if the jury or judge lets them off, then ???

LATEST...10am local news wcco...Bob Kroll has made his first statement and says that his officers were following the "current" body cam protocol and doing just what they were supposed to do...they turned off the car lights...drove slowly thru the alley with WINDOWS DOWN and were listening for the sounds as described in the 911 call. He said protocol is not to have those cams on while in the car..but only if they exit the car or are approaching a home. So my take is since they were in the car and he shot from the car no need to turn them on...per the rules. You can clearly see Kroll is slowly doing the set up to a full out statement that per current rules his officers were not at fault...I imagine it will go further in terms of the self defense. Wheels will now be turning to get those rules changed...meantime BCA is now on another officer involved shooting in another small town in Mn. with two more officers on "administrative leave"....it just continues.

The application alleged the plaintiff continuously called 911 and was verbally agitated and not making sense is clearly false based on a review of recordings of Plaintiff's statements to officers at her home and during her phone calls.
These allegations further fail to meet the statutory requirements for an emergency hold.

yes it is...i am sure the families have seen this. This is sad but everytime I see a squad car right now I cringe. I know not all are bad but with this kind of back up and people in charge that can't even get adequate rules in place I am scared to deal with them.

That is pretty much what was in the MSM articles i posted up earlier about the complaint about Noor and the plaintiff TG “violently and forcibly detained her” and “transported her to a hospital against will.”
So the MSM articles about that incident are all fairly consistent in what they are saying about that. I don't know about any of the outcome of that litigation by the plaintiff because i don't even know if that case against Noor has been decided yet? Haven't seen anything to say it has.

Does not match with the long article I posted, however.

Maybe the officers were following the body cam protocol, but Officer Noor sure as hell didn't follow the use of force protocol and that's the real issue at hand!!!

Even hunters need to know what they are shooting at. I guess 7 months of training gives you a badge, a gun and a free pass to shoot in Minneapolis.

Good grief this Knoll character is a real gem. The statements he made are only adding fuel to the fire. IMO he's an educated idiot and he's part of the problem.

It is interesting to me as Kroll has been presumed to be a racist.

Unless one is from Minnesota, it is impossible to understand the hatred some have for the Somali community.

Once upon a time, the hatred was for the Hmong who were refugees in MN. Some were shot at and killed while hunting in the woods.

Several people of color feel Minnesota nice is passive aggressive, Nice to your face.

Minnesota has top education, but a big gap for Natives and blacks.

To deny that race is an issue in all of this as far as people's attitudes is disingenuous.

I live in Minnesota. It's clear that racism is real in Minnesota and it's a big problem not only for Somalian's, but for all minorities. However, as far as racism goes I think Minnesota aligns with the entire nation and it needs to stop.

ETA: I want to mention that my thoughts and opinions on this case and if the shooting was justified has nothing to do with race. I'm sure I'll get backlash for saying this, but I'm saying it anyhow. I don't know why race was even brought into this. Everything isn't about race. We the people keep making everything about race and it's not going to change until we stop doing it.

I am now going by the Court filing i posted just before with a link because that is the actual document filed by TG's attorney to the Court so it is a valid legal document.
I see it states on the top right hand side Jury Trial Demanded.

I think you are thinking of the hunters in Wisconsin that were shot by a Hmong.

I love how the police are immediately removing those signs. Do they ever go into neighborhoods and remove those unauthorized Slow Down Children at Play signs that people put up on their streets? No those signs stay up forever. But removing these signs is priority one for the police. Suddenly the police are concerned with removing unauthorized signs from the street.

The incident happened in Wisconsin. Vang is Hmong and lived in MN. He was convicted of killing 6 and injuring 2 and was sentenced to 6 life sentences +7 years.
