GUILTY MN - Kira Trevino, 30, St Paul, 22 February 2013

Thanks for posting this comment. There is a lot of water in through there as well...
I think it is the Minnesota River, that runs thru the park area as well. I remember the park was submerged under-water in 2011. Anyway...he could have dumped her body in the river. I doubt the river is very thick with ice now a days...since it has been in the mid to upper 30s.

There are a lot of people who walk thru those woods...even during the winter time. Snow shoe-ing and cross country skiing.

I wonder if someone should call the St. Paul police department the central one. Ask if it is possible to do a large search of areas. You know like have 25+ people searching one area, so no area goes unsearched in whatever radius. Contact the news stations and ask the community to participate in the search(es).

Sometime LE will print out a satellite view picture and grid parts of it off. A small group of people are a signed to a certain gridded area.

Hi, I'm Courtney. I worked with Kira (same company, different store) and she is the most fun, bubbly, thoughtful person you'd ever meet.

One thing - Kira and Jeff didn't own their home. Kira was friends with the owner of the home. The roommate didn't own the home either, I think the son of the homeowner is the roommate? (speculation, JMO, MOO) but you can find the tax and owner information about the home here:

I made a facebook group for Kira, since her family doesn't have one out for her.

Having a group for Kira, may spread awareness and it would be easier for people in the community to communicate about searches and whatever else.

Something I noticed from the tipline article that I missed when reading it earlier.

Paulos said the vehicle could have traveled in a 100-mile radius of the Twin Cities, so the public’s help is needed over a wide-ranging area.

So it sounds like its very possible she could be found anywhere in a pretty large area around the twin cities.

Just a thought, but police know that someone put gas in her car shortly after 2am the night before the car was found. If they were able to determine that the car was filled with gas when it left, and they determined how much gas was in it when it was discovered roughly seven and a half hours later, then just by using statistics of average gas mileage that a Chevy Cobalt similar to hers gets, they should at least be able to get some rough idea of how many miles it had possibly been driven. Yea that was my thought of how they determined the 100 mile radius, they can also see how much gas was put into the vehicle by the credit card transaction.

Courtney, welcome to WS though I am very sorry that its under these circumstances. Did you know Kira and Jeff? If so, it would be helpful for you to become a verified insider- the info on how is listed in the link below if you are interested:

Does anyone know if Kira's car is equipped with OnStar? If the OnStar is active (people have to pay for their OnStar) then maybe they could get GPS locations from that?

Why is his bail kibbes and bits! 10,000 and he is out

I don't have the answer to that, sorry. Was just addressing the question of no body.

Correct, but they don't have enough evidence to charge him with 1st degree murder is what I was saying.

Guess not. Still... two counts of second-degree murder? What does that mean? Did he kill her twice? I'm not that up on how they decide what charges to bring against someone, esp. in other states. This is peculiar to me.

I've seen this happen in Colorado with James Holmes (Aurora Theatre shooting) and with Austin Sigg (charged with murder of Jessica Ridgeway).

ETA: Count 1: Murder in the Second degree says that JDT caused the death of KKT.
Count 2 of murder in the second degree says that as well with an add on that he caused the death of KKT while committing a felony.

Just to give you a general idea of the 100 miles radius... I did a search on google and based the starting point at the Trevino Home... The edge of the radius north-wise would approximately end at the NW shore of Mille Lacs where Garrison is at, edge of the radius south-wise would end couple miles south of Albert Lea... as for Wisconsin, the edge would end couple miles east of Eau Claire... Thats pretty much a HUGE, if not impossible, area to really search for Kira... I know many of us are banding together with our efforts, thoughts, and prayers and hopefully that would be enough for finding her, our safest and easiest bet would be for the Perp to finally crack and admit to this and that, or at least slip up big time that would help us pinpoint where she is...

I just went back to look at the video of LE press release from Friday but the video is no longer on the site :-( I am sure he said that Kira could be outside of a 100 mile radius and didnt want people to just focus on her being inside a 100 mile radius I will have to see if I can find that video somewhere else, did anyone else see that video?

I am going to try to re-edit this commented because I found the video now and if you listen after seven minutes you can hear why they said 100 mile radius but they dont want people just to focus on that area http://www.startribune.com/local/east/194373251.html

So are you on the same page here thinking that MR is the roommate?

No. I firmly believe that MR is NOT the roommate. MR is female, and MR is married. If you read my original post, she is the homeowner, and is friends with Kira.

A lot of people in the St. Paul area bought homes with the intent to "flip" them, and then the City of St. Paul started putting the kabash on that, so ther are now a lot of landlords. (source: http://www.startribune.com/local/stpaul/39598582.html?refer=y)

JMO, and MOO, but I think that the roommate is a relative of homeowner. Most likely a son, but maybe a nephew, cousin, or something like that.

OT, but just wanted to let ya know it's good to see you again Kat. I know you joined for Mickey Shunick just about the time I did, and we were there for the duration. Nice to see you still here working for the other Mickeys, who there are and unfortunately will be far too many of. Websleuths kinda does that to you. Once you come for someone, you tend to stay for all the others. I stepped back for a little while after the Shunick case was resolved, but couldnt stay away long. Those joining just now for Kira will soon know what I mean. Anyhoo, good to see you. Now, let's find Kira and make sure hubby gets what is coming to him.
