prosecutor states Kira met someone else and decided to leave Trevino. Nothing has come out before or during the trial so far to suggest that there was any other reason for the break up of the marriage other than Kira found a new man ( her boss ). So much for death do us part.

I would imagine this comment does not mean in any way, shape or form that Kira "had it coming", right? Marriages end. People deal with it. Mature people, that is.

Did not mean to imply she" had it coming ". My point. The prosecutor used the antiseptic term the marriage was falling apart. This implies, in my mind, that both parties were considering divorce. I think evidence will show that only Kira wanted a divorce. JT was still very much in love with her. One of her co-workers testified today that she did not wear her wedding ring and flirted with her manager. I think she was a player. I don't think the marriage was "falling apart". She wanted out because she found someone better.

Testimony in the murder trial of Jeffery Trevino started Thursday.

Thirty-nine-year-old Trevino is accused of killing his wife, Kira Steger. The case drew a lot of attention after she went missing back in February; her body was found more than two months later in the Mississippi River.

Opening statements from both the prosecution and defense were given Thursday morning. The prosecution said this was a case of "rage, jealousy and deception." Andrew Johnson, the prosecutor, painted their marriage as a failed one that came to an "abrupt, and painful end."

ST. PAUL, Minn. (WCCO) – Kira Steger’s family filled the courtroom Thursday to hear the case prosecutors have set against her husband, Jeffery Trevino. He is accused of killing Steger in February and dumping her body in the Mississippi River.

Trevino sat motionless as opening statements set the scene. They described a rocky relationship that was about to end.

Who says "60% sure" about anything? I have to admit I am giving the side-eye to the roommate, big-time, but I assume if there was an tangible proof he was an accomplice he would have been charged.
