Do I have this right? Anything else to add?

TIMELINE

March 31, 2023
  • 8:00 a.m. - Madeline and her partner [later clarified as the children's father] drop their 5-year-old daughter and 2-year-old son at daycare.
  • 8:15 a.m. - The dark blue 2014 Chrysler Town and Country minivan Madeline drives returns to her residence. Madeline doesn't show up for work at Mayo Clinic, something Chief Williams says "is very unlike her."
  • 10:00 a.m. - The children's father tells police he left the residence in her van, returned later in the day and she was gone.
  • 10:00 a.m. through 1:30 p.m. - A van similar to Maddi’s was driven on County Road 12 and (State) Highway 43 in Winona County, and then southbound on Highway 43 through the eastern part of Fillmore County. Later a van similar to Maddi’s traveled back toward Winona on Highway 43. All of this occurred between approx 10 a.m. and 1:30 p.m.

I would like to know why wait a full day to report her missing ?

I actually thought we might see dramatic movement today, based on the targeted search. I wondered if LE had a little bit more targeted information and, based on LE's very narrow window between last seen and not seen, whoever may have disappeared her didn't have a strategy IMO. Fast and sloppy.

LE has said they don't have any indications of her leaving the house, or something to that effect. But they aren't ripping her house apart, to my knowledge. They appear to be searching by air and foot in the direction her van went in. While carefully not identifying nor implicating the driver.

I want her found safe, I always want that. But if this is the same headline we've read before, this cold weather has the potential to preserve evidence. Not sure whether there's open water in the search area -- hoping not -- my hope, outside of a rescue, is for safety for searchers and a productive search.

Those babies need their mama... and her family needs answers.

The Chief of WPD did say that in the press conference yesterday, you're right. There was no sign Maddi left the house on foot, or in another vehicle.

LE's actions speak loud and clear, they won't name a POI - but it's not hard to imagine who it is. Kudos to them for enlisting the public's help to search. So many agencies won't do this, especially when it is suspected the victim is no longer alive.

I wonder if someone called LE on Friday, but a waiting period needed to happen before an official report could be made?

'At the moment, police say they are looking into “all possibilities as to what happened” to the mother-of-two but have not ruled out foul play.

Chief Williams said the case is being investigated as a “missing person but also as foul play based on the totality of evidence”.'

Thank you for this. I'm actually confusing myself and went back to start all over again but info is missing.
They both went together in 1 car to take the kids to daycare correct? ( makes sense) the van is spotted driving down (whatever, directions above) I thought the partner said he took her van? So her personal belongings are located in the van and her home is this correct?
They were calling the person who took the van "partner" in early reports. It's now being reported as the children's father, and one article says "husband." We've also seen "roommate." I'm sticking with "children's father" for now.

Her personal belongings were found in the home.

March 31, Friday
  • 1:30 pm - MK’s van returned home
  • MK didn’t pick her children up from daycare that afternoon and didn’t make any other arrangements
  • Numerous calls from friends and family went unanswered

April 1, Saturday
  • MK’s cellphone, wallet, ID and the jacket she was wearing on Friday, 3/31 were all found inside the home
Thank you, Tippy! :)

Some comments under the police FB may answer your question but nothing has been confirmed.

Nothing has been reported in the Media on a 2nd car.
Thanks, so she didn't pick the kids up from daycare yet partner went back to the house with her van around I think 1:30p, If "Partner didn't see her" how did he expect her to pick the kids up? He has the vehicle? And to report her missing the next day?? Come on! IMO

I can't get past this: children left at daycare, with no one coming to get them.

Let that sink in.

If he expected her to be at work and she had planned to get to work with other means, that could make sense.

BUT her cellphone, ID and wallet were at home. Presumably they would have been noticed..

That last sentence is worded a bit weirdly to avoid implication, hopefully it makes sense.

MOO… I wonder if the partner/man in her life (whatever he is to her) was a relationship on the outs…

My uneducated guess would be probably. My educated guess would be yes, definitely.

As others have said here, in these types of disappearances, the likely perp is someone close to or in a relationship with the MP.

A terrible truth that leaves so many victims behind when that is the sad conclusion.

Until she is found/someone is charged, I hope MK beats the odds somehow.

It appears on her Facebook she was looking for another place to live. Hope I’m allowed to say that since her Facebook is linked on the first page.

I hope M is found as quickly as possible and the children are safe. I wish that the person responsible decides to speak out because her family is in so much anguish.

(ABC 6 News) – The search for a missing Winona mother of two is now reaching into its seventh day Thursday.

“We’re getting calls from out of state. From all over wanting to help. It just shows how much our community cares about each other and wants to help each other.”

People from all across Winona and Fillmore counties and across the region will come together as they search for answers. One key question: what happened to Madeline Kingsbury?

Winona Police also plans to hold another press conference in less than 24 hours.

Hmmn, massive search planned and another pressor? You know what we say about about Fridays around here ...

Here’s what we know so far about the circumstances of Kingsbury’s disapperance.

  • 8 a.m. — Police said that on March 31, Kingsbury and her children’s father dropped off their kids at daycare.
“Maddi did not show up for work, which is very unlike her, and we are worried for her safety,” explained Winona Police Chief Tom Williams.

  • 8:15 a.m. — Police say they’ve learned Kingsbury returned home after dropping her kids off that morning in her 2014 dark blue Chrysler Town & Country van.
“During the course of our investigation, we know that Maddi returned to her residence on Kerry Drive in Winona around 8:15 a.m. on March 31st,” the chief added.

  • 10 a.m. — The father of Maddi’s children told law enforcement that he left the residence in Maddi’s van around 10 a.m. and upon returning later in the day, “Maddi was not home.”
  • Between 10 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. — Police added that a ‘vehicle matching Kingsbury’s van’ was spotted on County Road 12 and Highway 43 in Winona County and south on Highway 43 in eastern Fillmore County. Later, a van similar to Madeline’s traveled back toward Winona on Highway 43.
“We believe the van remained parked in the driveway of Maddie’s residence from 1:30 p.m. on.”
