Houston County Sheriff’s office has posted an more specific area for search/reviewing video footage:

“the Winona Police Department and the Houston County Sheriff’s Office have requested assistance from residents and landowners located in the southern portion of Money Creek Township, Yucatan Township, and Black Hammer Township in Houston county. We are asking residents in this area to check their properties, including any video cameras, doorbell cameras, game cameras etc. for a dark colored Chrysler Town and Country van, signs of a disturbance, or any other suspicious activity. The timeframe in question would be from approximately 8am on 3/31 through 4pm on 4/1/23.”

I agree. We still have no description of clothing Maddi was last seen in, why LE is looking for video of where the van went, or general timeline (apart from requesting videos from 3/31 thru 4/1.) I understand that LE sharing info could jeopardize the investigation -- at the same time, I feel like we've been given very little from LE. From what I've seen from family, LE is also keeping them at a distance. All of this feels... odd... I'm not sure how else to put it.

I've thought about this also. I hestitate to say this out loud, but I've seen this in cases where there was a strong indication of loss of life from the outset. Mentioning disturbed areas, doesn't exactly sound like they feel she is alive. Some type of evidence may have been found at the home or in the car

How do the updated areas in Fillmore County line up with those in Houston County? Are they updating these areas as they are searched and cleared?

I'm not sure if they've received information from the townships they were asking about earlier and they are moving onto the next township to track the route or if they're just going from one township to the next.

Also, how will they distinguish 'problematic' reports from genuine reports?

It sounds a bit of a wild-goose chase.

Although this may be the only way they can search these areas if they are understaffed.
