The ruse would be that whether they need resources or not, the main purpose is to gather names of people who are choosing to associate themselves with the crime. By trying to help out you are putting yourself on the suspect list. We all know that can go badly.

Are you suggesting that those who helped with the search are now on the suspect list? I suspect that's not true.

Megan Kingsbury received a "goofy" text from her sister, Madeline, the morning she went missing, and that was last the time things were "normal," she told Fox News Digital in an exclusive interview.

[...]

"We were chuckling about a funny photo exchange between us, and that was the last communication with me, or with any of my family or her other friends," said Megan, referring to the 8:15 a.m. text exchange.

Their family talks on a regular basis, and Madeline tells them "about every minute detail" in her life, Megan said.

"Concern really started the evening of Friday, March 31," Megan said. "My mom messaged me asking if I had heard from my sister that day because my mom had sent some messages that had no response."

[...]

Madeline's family called all her friends, and none of them heard from her either.

The sisters had plans to hang out the next day, and Madeline typically calls the day before to iron out details, but that never happened, she said.

[...]

ETA: Article appears to confirm that the children's father was not present at the press conference (see photo in the article).

Agreed.
The presser mentioned (paraphrased); 'anything suspicious ... or disturbed' (i.e., earth).
Also wanting anyone with possible security footage of the van driving by.
Without them saying it specifically, it sounds like LE have a poi in mind.
Who else would have driven the van, other than someone in Madeline's immediate family or related ?
The tone of the presser was dark, and not hopeful. :(
My .02 is that Madeline didn't leave on her own , nor did she self-harm.
That doesn't leave many options.
Imo.
Yeah, I'm starting to worry that the next search may require a shovel. :(

Bbm.
This is actually helpful as her family would know if there was any trouble going on in Madeline's life ?

I don't expect them to share it right now, as they are hyper focused on finding her !!
Also they may not want to risk someone not cooperating ?
This is so sad.
Madeline is loved !
Imo.

"Megan said the focus has been concentrated on a three-hour time period between 1:30 p.m. and 4:30 p.m."

"Screenshots of a Facebook post that [the father of MK's children] purportedly wrote said he was with Madeline until 10:30 a.m. the day she went missing, left to run errands, and that she was gone by the time he returned that afternoon."

"That post has since been deleted or can't be viewed. He was noticeably absent during Wednesday's press conference."

He drove Maddi's van from 10am till 1:30pm on March 31.

'The children’s father told police he left the home in Kingsbury’s minivan — a dark blue 2014 Chrysler Town and Country — at about 10 a.m., and that Kingsbury was not home when he returned later in the day.

“We believe a van similar to Maddi’s van was driven on County Road 12 and (State) Highway 43 in Winona County, and then southbound on Highway 43 through the eastern part of Fillmore County,” Williams said. “Later a van similar to Maddi’s traveled back toward Winona on Highway 43. All of this occurred between approximately 10 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. We believe the van remain parked in the driveway of Maddi’s residence from 1:30 p.m. on. Nothing to date has indicated that Maddi left the residence on foot or in another vehicle.”'

So there are 2 vans - Am I getting this correct??

Which one is hers? my head is spinning...

I don't understand the 1:30 to 4:30...
If he saw her at 10:30, isn't that where it should start??

I'm wondering if the car was parked somewhere inconspicuous after it was last seen, and it was switched out for another vehicle until a switch back to get it home?

Perhaps the timeline is based on video footage of the van? MOO

Hi MountainGal33, it is definitely confusing.

So, Maddi's partner drove Maddi's van on March 31 from 10am to 1:30.

The van the police is talking about - the one driving County Road 12 and (State) Highway 43 in Winona County - the police says it "matches" the description of Maddi's van but without saying if it's hers or not.

So, it could be the one and the same but the police doesn't want to or cannot confirm just yet.

Well ... I've caught up now (sad face) I'm just so disgusted at the number of beautiful women / mothers, daughters, sisters, nieces, friends - that go missing under suspicious circumstances and are often met with foul play ... and even more saddened when at the hands of boyfriends, husbands, partners. I know we don't yet have answers about Maddi and I need to be careful what I post.

How many times have we been down this road? All I can say tonight is Godspeed:
Laci Peterson, Shannan Watts, Jennifer Dulos, Maya Millete, Suzanne Morphew, Ana Walshe, Ciera Breland, Kelsey Berreth, Jennifer Brown, Cassi Carli, Bennylyn Burke, Eliza Fletcher, Rachel Castillo, Beth Capaldi ... I just can't

And don't even get me started on the kids ...

Take care of yourselves and your loved ones.
MOO

I've outlined
- Fillmore County
- Highway 43 in Winona and Fillmore Counties.

The new poster specifies
- Van traveling from Winona to eastern part of Fillmore county
- request for camera footage from 8 am March 31 to 4 pm April 1 along Highway 43.

"It's a lot of land to cover, and a lot of different terrain to cover. It's been difficult because of that," Megan said. "It's like, well s***, she can be anywhere."

Police said resources have been brought in to deal with every type of terrain.

"There's been divers looking in the waters, people scouring the plains and trucking through the woods, law enforcement on ATVs and horses," Megan said.

Web sleuths and online theorists are already speculating on what happened to Madeline or where she is.

Megan said she and her family are blocking all that out and are asking the public to keep the focus on finding Maddi.

Among the speculation surrounds the father of Madeline's children, who told law enforcement that he was with Madeline until about 10 a.m. on March 31 and "returned later that day, and Maddie was not home," the police chief said.

Screenshots of a Facebook post that he purportedly wrote said he was with Madeline until 10:30 a.m. the day she went missing, left to run errands, and that she was gone by the time he returned that afternoon.

That post has since been deleted or can't be viewed. He was noticeably absent during Wednesday's press conference.
Police have said, at this point, there is no suspect in Madeline's disappearance, and Megan didn't get into questions about the children's father or the online theories.

"There's a lot of speculation, of course, with people coming up with theories and asking us a lot of questions that we can't answer," Megan said. "We just want to keep the focus on finding her. We're asking people keep their eyes and ears open."

Finding Madeline Kingsbury

“We, the Kingsbury and Naber families, are overwhelmed by the outpouring of love for our Maddi. Her cousin Suzanne sent this meme to us tonight. It touched us and we thought it was very much something Maddi would appreciate. She has a gentle soul just like Mr. Rogers did and this part of the world truly has become her neighborhood filled with wonderful and marvelous people.”

I swallowed hard after reading this, very touching.
Who is the Naber family? Are they cousins of Maddi?
