This doesn’t really add anything, but I was curious about why, in the document declaring her deceased, it stated date of death as 11 March 1981, while noting she was last seen 11 March 1977.

Answer: Minnesota’s statue only requires 4 years missing to declare death in absentia. (TIL!)
