Where is the evidence it was not reported in the papers or the news? I do not umderstand how people know about it if it was not in the news?

For me, the trigger was that the Somali was listed as the highlight. Not by ME. But how this has been displayed here.

Did we see, “ Scottish man blows up Oklahoma city daycare.”?

We have enough hate to go around in the world. Selecting trigger words is scary.

The main paper, the Star Tribune, did not have anything on this story until Jan 4. I dont know if it was in the print edition, but it was on their online site and they did NOT post it on their FB page on the 4th.

I am curious how one would know that? Did people go back to previous issues and see it was not there?

And it may have been that long for her to stablize in order to give a description. Or I guess some people feel a woman in pain, on drugs, and maybe receiving blood and who knows what else was up to giving a description and report right away.

Thinking back to the murder that happened outside the party back when I lived there, LE didn't release anything about that and the press didn't report it either. I had to lookup records to find out later it was a latino kid on his way to his aunts house they think got shot for his wallet (yeah right).

The City Pages should be all over this and asking the questions you guys are asking.

Easy. I used the search bars on both their website and FB pages

I looked up info re Mpls papers. There was the Tribune and it merged with the Star in 1982. Hm. Time goes by. Then there was the bankruptcy and it got bought in 2014. I just read this on Wkikpedia.

When I was at the Main U, a girl’s body was found on the highway right by the house we were renting in Dinkytown. A woman was shot in Vescio’s Pizza. Some guy shot her through the window. He thought she looked evil. Then a guy murdered a friend he was visiting by our house. The murderer came and used our phone. Did not know he was a murderer right then. We had a friend who was gay. He was murdered. The murderer was never caught. A woman we knew was murdered by her boyfriend, We knew nothing about domestic violence. A next door neighbor blew his brains out. He was a drug addict. I uses to babysit for his gf’s baby,

That was in 1972. I decided to move out of Minneapolis. I equate Minneapolis as Murderapolis.

The latest idea by the loons on social media is that police should not be allowed to mention skin color when describing a suspect because it is racist.

And to see the Ferguson effect, google for some recent articles about the murder rate in Baltimore.

This isn't even true.

Woman Stabbed Multiple Times in Uptown on Walk Home from Work

"She fought him, and that's when he started stabbing her repeatedly," he said. "And then neighbors who heard her screaming for help came to assist, and that is when the suspect ran away."

I wonder if the neighbors who came to aid Morgan gave LE a description of the suspect. I would assume that they were interviewed. It would have been nice to know if they did or didn't get a good look at the suspect. JMO

I just went to the Star Tribune and put "morgan evenson" in the search bar.

The only result is an article dated January 4. I can read the article by using "Open Link in New Private Window" using Firefox browser. JMO

According to Massshootingtracker, in 2017, 6 mass shootings in Baltimore, does not count non-mass shootings

https://www.massshootingtracker.org/data/2017

...........................................

For homicides:

Baltimore has now had 343 homicides in 2017, sets record for killings per capita

http://www.baltimoresun.com/news/maryland/crime/bs-md-ci-per-capita-homicides-20171227-story.html

Per the article, mostly due to gang/turf warfare.
.....................................

Back to ME for now though - were there any other similar attacks in Minneapolis?

While I am glad she recovered, this reminds me of those similar crimes against women making the news in Europe.

Very scary indeed.

Wow, somebody posted this link above--the stab wound they showed is horrific!

http://www.wsaw.com/content/news/Wausau-native-shares-harrowing-story-of-stabbing-465722823.html

From the above link

A stranger tackled Evenson as she walked home from work in Uptown last week. When she fought back, he started stabbing her.

...........................................

Does not say how she fought back - in a case like this I recommend the woman aim for the guy's nuts with her shoes.

Must have been an extremely harrowing experience for her. I am just glad she is trying to recover.

And the creep who committed this crime needs to be caught and punished accordingly.

No subscription. Can you not get access?

Im just saying he should be described as the wittiness sees. Black/white/Asian shouldn't matter. As far as descriptions go, you can't say the suspect is white if he looked black, or that the suspect was Polish if he looked Spanish.

I'm not following you.

I would like to know if people expect that they should not be notified in the areas these types of crimes are happening in of the fact there is a murderer on the loose? Are the general public expected not to be informed about that or what?

"She was clearly fighting back and she told me she was trying to hit him 'where it counts,'" he said, adding, "she was not going to let him get away with it, and she remained conscious pretty much until the time paramedics arrived at my house."

Very good article. Accurately describes what occurred in this case. And as it did happen in this case, I see no reason for not discussing it in context.

Putting the public at increased risk to avoid offending anyone is lunacy.

By going to any lengths to avoid offending, we are catering to ever increasingly violent groups and individuals, and as we continue to do so, we become complicit in future attacks.

For being such an unpublicized case, we sure do have a lot of "experts" on it around here. Freaking amazing.
