MN - One dead after Minneapolis shooting involving immigration agents, US media report, January 24, 2026

  • #41
In the second video floating around (no MSM link yet that I could find) it looks like he tries to protect the woman that the agents are shoving, they both get pepper sprayed and shoved to the ground, then agents surround him and shoot him. Nowhere does he brandish a weapon in the videos I have seen.
Yes the woman in pink who was filming very closely had her footage come out. I’m sure it will be in MSM soon. There is also a 2nd video I saw of another bystander who had their phone confiscated by ICE as soon as the shooting happened. They are forced into a brick wall corner and yelled at to give the officer their cell phone and then the video cuts out.

US federal law enforcement officials begin news conference

We're now hearing from federal law enforcement officials at a news conference.

First to speak is Border Patrol Commander Greg Bovino.

We'll bring you the key lines here, but you can also follow along by pressing Watch live at the top of this page.

Border Patrol agent fired 'defensive shots', commander says

We're now hearing from Greg Bovino, Border Patrol commander.

He tells the press that this morning, an individual approached ICE agents with a 9mm semi-automatic handgun. The agents "attempted to disarm the individual but he violently resisted".

"Fearing for his life... a Border Patrol agent fired defensive shots," Bovino continues.

Medical aid was given straight away but the man was pronounced dead at the scene, he says.

The man had two loaded magazines and no accessible ID, he adds.

"This looks like a situation where an individual wanted to do maximum damage and massacre law enforcement," he says.

Officer involved in shooting 'highly trained', Bovino says

Bovino says the Border Patrol officer involved in the shooting today was "highly trained".

He does not give any details about the identity of the agent.

There is a still photo that shows both hands visible while he is still on his feet, being confronted directly. He has a phone in one hand; the other is empty. I hope it will be verified and in MSM soon.

Actually the woman in the pink coat who appears in the original video has uploaded her video and there is no time in her video showing that the deceased was being aggressive toward LE. And I use the term LE very lightly here because this is not policing.

Trump accuses local officials of inciting 'insurrection'

We've just heard from President Donald Trump, who accuses the mayor of Minneapolis and the governor of Minnesota of fomenting an "insurrection".

In a social media post, Trump shared an image of the pistol that federal officials say the suspect had.

"Where are the local Police? Why weren’t they allowed to protect ICE Officers? The Mayor and the Governor called them off? It is stated that many of these Police were not allowed to do their job, that ICE had to protect themselves — Not an easy thing to do!," he writes.

Without citing evidence, Trump accuses local officials of a "cover up" to hide theft and fraud.

He adds: "The mayor and governor are inciting insurection, with their pompous, dangerous and arrogant rhetoric... LET OUR ICE PATRIOTS DO THEIR JOB!"

Trump has repeatedly threatened to invoke the rarely used Insurrection Act to quell unrest over federal immigration enforcement in Minneapolis.

There are no public events on Trump's schedule today, but he is due to hold a closed-door screening of a documentary about his wife Melania this evening.

It doesn't help that the president constantly defends the brutality of ICE and BPD.

I don't think emptying a magazine is considered highly trained unless ICE use Call of Duty as a training manual.

There are 3 videos now. In the right video/pic, like many are reporting, it does look like one of the officers has a gun (circled in red) that he didn't have before he bent over the victim. If he in fact disarmed the victim, there certainly couldn't be any justification for the shooting. Watch the videos and focus on this guy.

MN officials are saying the victim was a legal gun owner, I'm guessing they are getting out in front of this because of the lies already coming out from Feds.

Hard to say what that is in his hand.

As it's an important source of new information, I'm going to take a chance that the twitter feed of Drop Site News is an acceptable source for Websleuths.

From what I can see, and it's quite confused, they notice he has a gun, one of the officers then removes the gun and starts moving away. At this point, they start pumping him full of lead, ie, after he has been disarmed.

Also, I can't see the victim reaching for the gun, or waving it about at any point.

That's what I see too. I don't see he did anything other than film and they accosted him, pepper sprayed him, then shot him.

From the video above, I see the victim is trying to help the 2 women who are being pushed and pepper sprayed by ICE, then he himself is pepper sprayed directly in his eyes. This causes chaos as he starts to flail around and the officers try to arrest him. He falls to the ground and an officer removes the gun from his person. They then start firing multiple rounds directly into him after he has been disarmed. But I also never saw him ever reach for his own gun at any point. Both his hands are flat on the ground as he’s being shot.

They executed a man in cold blood. Thanks for posting this other angle, it's even clearer that there was zero justification for their murder. INSANE!!!

That's what I see, too. From this video that KARE11 have been analysing.
