Well written doesn’t mean it is factual or legal.Absolutely! I agree it’s a well written letter.
Coercion is not a good look

rbbmI have read the actual letter, I read it twice. Nothing was taken out of context from anything I read. Those were the demands she had for the state of Minnesota in exchange for ICE agents being pulled back from their operations in the state. To me, that reads like extortion. Also, if their mission is to find all these serious criminal illegal aliens, why would they give up on that and leave the state before completing this task, if Minnesota gives into their demands?
He had a high caliber weapon, a super duper gun - it was simultaneously the gun being taken and ice shooting, how was ice supposed to know he wasn't reaching for another weapon or the exact one that was being removed from him, they were protecting the ice agents as they should of been - he shouldn't of been fighting w/ICE nor had any weapon to use against ICE <modsnip: Thread is not about immigration policy>
I don't see any coercion in the letter, just our AG addressing issues related to fraud in Minnesota along with illegal immigrants and their removal according to U.S. law.Well written doesn’t mean it is factual or legal.

They would still arrest criminal undocumented immigrants. We don’t see this occurring at the same level in other states. In my opinion, ICE is permitted to remove criminal undocumented immigrants from jails in other states. Maybe we can agree that this doesn’t need to play out on the streets in the way that it has been. I see it as a compromise. imo
From the letter -
Second, repeal the sanctuary policies that have led to so much crime and violence in your state. Removing criminal illegal aliens from Minnesota neighborhoods will save lives, and state and local officials should support this goal. All detention facilities in your state should cooperate fully with ICE, honor immigration detainers, and permit ICE to interview detainees in custody to determine immigration status. I urge you to reach an agreement with ICE that allows them to remove illegal aliens in custody of Minnesota's prisons and jails and avoids pushing these interactions into your streets.
Enforcing the law is a basic responsibility of government. Law enforcement should be able to do its job without outside interference, and protesters shouldn’t be allowed to dictate whether or not the law is enforced. imo
Is there a point at which protesters should reconsider their approach?
You're not concerned about how illegal this is? Giving out the private data of millions of U.S citizens is a violation of state and federal law. I'm glad Minnesota is holding its ground.Very well-written letter from U.S. Attorney General Bondi. It covers all the issues that the federal government is investigating in Minnesota, as well as Minnesota's leaders refusal to cooperate with federal immigration agents and the issue of illegal immigration and their state. Lays it all out very well.
ICE doesn't have the right to murder innocent civilians. <modsnip>Protestors do not have the right to trash peoples homes & yards & cause such a massive disturbance. Are they going to pay for the damage? No, of course not. That comes out of my hard earned money I actually work for. ICE has every right to be here. Like I said, people are not understanding how many ILLEGAL CRIMINALS are actually here! Especially the people who are not even a resident here! It's been an ongoing serious problem, people have been concerned about safety here for years, not to mention the fraudsters who started taking advantage of the pandemic funds.
You don’t see the ‘give the feds what they want and we will go away’ tactic?I don't see any coercion in the letter, just our AG addressing issues related to fraud in Minnesota along with illegal immigrants and their removal according to U.S. law.
How many illegal immigrants are in Minnesota? What percentage of the population are they?Protestors do not have the right to trash peoples homes & yards & cause such a massive disturbance. Maybe you need to re-watch the videos. I think you're seeing what you want to see, not what actually happened.IMO If you’re in public recording from a safe distance, fine. If you are closing distance, refusing to move back, stepping into agents, blocking , surrounding, etc. you are not observing , you are interfering and you are going to get treated like a threat. The conceal carry angle is the dumbest part of the debate . A permit does not give you authority. I am very much pro 2A. It doesn’t give you a hall pass to “help” by inserting yourself into a legal federal chaotic enforcement operation . Federal agents will not play intent games. They will treat “I’m helping “ as noise if your body is in the wrong place , you are closing distance and your hands are doing the wrong thing.
Mr. Pretti made horribly foolish decisions that day. I would NEVER encourage anyone I love to take part in this nonsense. IMO
Is Minnesota a swing state?
