Welcome to WS!
As you can see there is not much to go on in trying to help finding Wendy. The ex has a past of criminal charges that are very concerning. I do not know why the police keep saying that they are treating this only as a missing person case, unless they have absolutely nothing, either. I would think that CVS would have an up to date top notch video system inside and outside of their stores. Has anyone heard anything about who may have exited Wendy's vehicle when it was left at the CVS? Or was the car found too late and the video was gone?

I’m sorry, but I’m always suspect when the boyfriend/husband says “She ran off with another man”. It seems that when it’s reversed and a man is missing and the girlfriend/wife is the POI, they rarely say “He ran off with another woman”. This to me makes these men look even more guilty. It’s like they care so little for the MP they just expect that other men in LE will also not care...and unfortunately in some cases that is exactly what happens.

I’ve been saying for a long time that the most invisible person out there is a female aged 13-65. When they go missing, if there’s no blood or signs of violence, their disappearance is chalked up as a “run away”. This applies from teens to adult...we’ve all heard the speculation from LE...”She probably needed a break” or “She’ll show back up eventually when she’s tired of running” or our personal favorite “She must have a new man”. When men go missing rarely does MSM or LE speculate that he’s just ran off with a new woman...even though this has happened...case in point the man from somewhere in UK that vanished from his home that he shared with a girlfriend of 20 some years and several children only to turn up in the US married to a woman he met on the net (the story is here on websleuths somewhere sorry no time to link). This is all My Opinion Only of course...rant over...

Charley Project: Wendy Lynn Khan – The Charley Project

Details of Disappearance
Wendy was last seen in Mankato, Minnesota on June 1, 2018. She has never been heard from again. Her live-in boyfriend, Mohammed Bilal Chughtai, told police he thought she had run off with another man.

The day before her disappearance, she accompanied her adult daughter, Aneisah Khan, to a doctor's appointment. Afterwards, they went back to Wendy's house on Ninth Street. While she and Aneisah were sitting on the couch talking, Chughtai came home and told Aneisah to leave immediately or he would call the police. Wendy gave her a ride to her own home a few blocks away.

The next day, Wendy had contact with Aneisah by text messages and in phone conversation. Aneisah offered to pick her up so they could spend time together, but Wendy declined and said she should spend time with her friends and have fun.

On June 2, Aneisah was unable to reach her mother; Wendy wasn't answering the phone. When Aneisah went to her home to check on her, she wasn't home and her car was gone. On June 3, Aneisah and her father, who is Wendy's ex-husband, filed a missing persons report.

On June 7, a week after Wendy's disappearance, her black 2011 Nissan Sentra was found abandoned in the parking lot behind a CVS pharmacy in the 200 block of Belle Avenue in Mankato. The tire was flat and police determined it had been punctured with a blade.

Almost all her belongings were left behind, including her pet cats. Her purse and cellular phone are unaccounted for, but Wendy hasn't used the phone or her financial accounts. The last time she accessed her bank account was May 30, her phone has not been used since June 2.

Chughtai has misdemeanor convictions for domestic assault, stalking and violating a restraining order. On July 2018, a month after Wendy's disappearance, he sold their house and dropped out of sight, even leaving his car behind, and never picking up the proceeds from the sale of the house. Police have searched the home and found no indications of foul play.

A photo of Chughtai is posted with this case summary. He has two active warrants for his arrest for probation violation, stalking, and violating a restraining order. None of these charges, or his previous convictions, involve Wendy; they were all concerning his ex-wife and children. However, Wendy's loved ones stated that although she never filed a police report, Chughtai abused her also.

Chughtai is not listed as a missing person, but her current whereabouts are unknown. The circumstances of Wendy's disappearance are unclear.

That doesn't sound good for her at all, especially the part where" she "ran off with another man" - isn't that what they all say when something goes awry? Interesting that he's now missing too....self harm from guilt, maybe? I mean, why else wouldn't you pick up a check from the sale of the house? MOO

Is there any surveillance video in the area of that CVS where her car was found on June 7th? That’s an obvious question but if they think she left on her own, I’m wondering if anyone really looked into that.

Wendy Lynn Khan, 46, was last heard from on June 1, 2018, when she was texting with her daughter, Aneisah. Aneisah told Dateline she visited Wendy at her home in Mankato, Minnesota, the night before, on May 31, 2018. Wendy lived with her boyfriend, Mohammed Bilal Chughtai. Chughtai came home that night and asked Wendy’s daughter to leave.

A few days later, on Sunday, June 3, when Aneisah had not heard from her mother, she went to check on her. No one answered the door and so she went to the Mankato Police Department and filed a missing person’s report.

On June 7, six days after Aneisah last spoke to her mother, authorities located Wendy’s vehicle on Belle Avenue, behind a Mankato CVS. According to Mankato Public Safety Commander Jeremy Clifton the car had a flat tire. Wendy vanished with just her purse and her cell phone. Police have yet to locate either of those items.

Aneisah told Dateline in 2019 that her mother’s bank account was last accessed on May 30, 2018, and her phone has not been used since June 2, 2018. Investigators searched Wendy’s boyfriend’s car and the home but found no evidence of foul play.

Dateline was unable to reach Mohammed in 2019 for his recollection of events of the days surrounding Wendy’s disappearance. The Mankato Department of Public Safety has not named any persons of interest or suspects in Wendy’s case. “It’s an open and active missing persons investigation,” Commander Clifton told Dateline. Wendy Khan is described as being 5’5” tall and weighing 160 lbs. with red hair and green eyes.

Two years and no leads on missing Mankato woman

I came across this article; it happened to be published today!

Investigators have no new leads but have not forgotten about the Mankato woman who vanished two years ago.

Monday was a “sobering reminder” that the family of Wendy Khan still does not have closure, said Jeremy Clifton, assistant director of the Mankato Department of Public Safety.
The case remains open and investigators search periodically for leads. But “there has been no new activity for some time now,” Clifton said.
Clifton said his department has asked for help from other law enforcement agencies.
