MN -- woman shot in face and killed by ICE, Minneapolis, 7 Jan 2026

  • #221
I have seen comments online that this shooting occurred less than a mile from where George Floyd was killed in 2020. Are there any MSM sources that confirm this statement?

With the release of video footage, and the statements from both Kristi Noem & Donald Trump, tensions may continue to rise.

The next few hours are crucial. The city of Minneapolis might be in for a long night.
I have inlaws in Minneapolis. I think there is a neighborhood in between today's scene and the George Floyd incident. But, yes, they are not far from each other, though different neighborhoods.

‘Heller said she's never been involved in activities to warn or protest the federal immigration agency, but when she walked out to her porch she said she saw six or seven ICE vehicles and a protester who had parked perpendicular to traffic.

Heller said she saw agents exit their cars and tell the driver to leave, to "get out of here."’

Eyewitness.

“Renee Nicole Good, the 37-year-old woman fatally shot by an ICE agent on Wednesday morning, had a young son whose father died in 2023, according to the Minnesota Star Tribune.

“There’s nobody else in his life,” Timmy Ray Macklin Sr., the boy’s grandfather, told the paper. “I’ll drive. I’ll fly. To come get my grandchild.””
I hope the dog is safe too. You can see an ICE 🤬🤬🤬🤬 drag him away from the car in the video taken from a balcony. At least they didn’t shoot him or her on site.

That's ok, with all the videos floating around, I'm sure a screen shot of him will be posted on social media soon. He'll be identified sooner or later.

MOO.
I hope he is in protective custody. He is innocent unless found guilty by a court of law. That's the U.S. way. We don't need some kind of vigilante justice. People are reacting before we get all the details. On both sides of the equation.

It’s almost like ICE agents purposely cause chaos and confusion in an effort to make a situation escalate to the point where they decide they need to use violence. MOO.
That sounds familiar...

He didn’t step in the path, she backed up to get around and headed straight towards him, i would have shot too.

Jmo
Headed straight towards him?? Are you seeing the same video we're seeing???

Seems to me vigilante justice is what we saw today.

Whether happy or not, protesters are not ICE target group, even. Protesters are usually US citizens, they are not afraid. (Unless ICE illegally detains someone in the Hispanic community, then there may be a local protest, but they usually use lawyers.)

But in general, protesters are the group the police is handling. And nowadays, police has learned not to create havoc.

ICE created havoc, and they need to learn how to diffuse such situations. Now they are in a bad, bad spot. You can hardly imagine worse advertising for them. Killing a US citizen, a 30+-year-old woman, and not a minority. And it doesn’t matter what she did wrong or where she turned. What matters is how it looks to the country.

Unfortunately, as seen right here in this thread, it seems that some of the country have blinkers on! Thankfully not the majority.

Not a lawful order. As a US citizen they had no authority over her. And they gave conflicting orders, one saying get out of here, move and another saying get out and trying to open her car door. They created this nightmare. She was the victim of their lack of lawful authority and proper training.
It would have been a safer and less chaotic situation if local LE would work with the immigration agents. Poor choice by the governor and mayor, or whoever made the decision to not provide non-immigration law enforcement with this kind of protest and activity taking place.

I don’t know much about what happened, and have only seen one video of the shooting. But it appears there is now a young child who has lost both parents, and that’s tragic anyway you look at it. So unnecessary.

Kristi Noem, head of Homeland Security, response:

“It was an act of domestic terrorism. What happened was our ICE officers were out on an enforcement action. They got stuck in the snow because of the adverse weather that is in Minneapolis. They were attempting to push out their vehicle and a woman attacked them and those surrounding them and attempted to run them over and ram them with her vehicle.
“An officer of ours acted quickly and defensively shot to protect himself and the people around him. And my understanding is, is that she was hit and is deceased."

President Trump's response:
I have just viewed the clip of the event which took place in Minneapolis, Minnesota. It is a horrible thing to watch. The woman screaming was, obviously, a professional agitator, and the woman driving the car was very disorderly, obstructing and resisting, who then violently, willfully, and viciously ran over the ICE Officer, who seems to have shot her in self defense. Based on the attached clip, it is hard to believe he is alive, but is now recovering in the hospital. The situation is being studied, in its entirety, but the reason these incidents are happening is because the Radical Left is threatening, assaulting, and targeting our Law Enforcement Officers and ICE Agents on a daily basis. They are just trying to do the job of MAKING AMERICA SAFE. We need to stand by and protect our Law Enforcement Officers from this Radical Left Movement of Violence and Hate!

Another witness saying ICE gave conflicting orders, from Minnesota Public Radio News:

“An eyewitness told MPR News that ICE agents gave conflicting orders to a driver in south Minneapolis on Wednesday, with one agent ordering her to drive away from the scene where an ICE vehicle was stuck in a snowbank while another yelled for her to get out of her car as he reached for the door handle.

The scene ended with an agent shooting into the car, killing the woman.

“Some of them were leaving, and they just went around her, but ICE gave her orders to leave, while at the same time, another ICE person said, ‘Get out of the car,’ and he reached for her door handle. And then there was an ICE agent in front of her vehicle. So it was difficult for her to leave, as she'd been ordered to do,” Callenson said.“

Walz gave a press conference today--no one from the federal level informed anyone at the state level of their plans to flood MN with ICE agents. He would have welcomed communication, their presence was not needed or wanted. Here's a link to the full speech, hope you listen.

ICE did not inform Minneapolis police they were coming. Gov. Walz confirmed that in the press conference today. It is ICE who failed to work with local LE.

I saw his WHOLE face, up close. Waving his fingers around like get out of here, as in out of my face. The person videoing him.
Also tagged the license plate of the vehicle he got into.

The shooter has already been declared innocent by the US President. He has nothing to worry about.

"Trump also responded to the Minneapolis incident on social media. He claimed the woman deliberately drove into the officer. "It appears he acted in self-defense," the president said."

An unmarked grey truck pulls up and two men, aiming guns at the driver in the SUV, grab at the door handle and shout "GET OUT OF THE F+ING CAR".

The driver backs up, turns the wheels to avoid the gangsters, pulls forward ... no one is in front of the vehicle.

First shot - yellow arrow indicates shooter. Vehicle wheels turned to the right at the time of the first shot.

The blame lies with the Trump administration. The governor, mayor, and local LE were not notified when/where ICE raids were taking place despite having asked:

"And I just wanted to remind you too that local law enforcement, we get no coordination. They don't tell us they're coming. They don't say why they're sending the largest deployment in American history to Minneapolis. They're not they're not making us any safer. We don't have any of that coordination."

Not sure how helpful that would be, unfortunately…

“According to documents obtained by NBC News via the Freedom of Information Act, the Illinois secretary of state’s office sent letters to at least 19 national car rental headquarters stating that they had received public complaints of immigration agents switching license plates on rented vehicles when Operation Midway Blitz, an extensive government deportation operation, was active in the Chicago area.”

Just yesterday, MPD Chief O’ Hara publicly expressed his concerns about ICE’s presence in Minneapolis, during his 2025 crime report.
TIMESTAMP— @49:40
I’ve been concerned for weeks that because the issue is so emotional, and because frankly, some of the way that this stuff has been carried out, the greatest risk to me is that there would be some civil unrest or that there would be a tragedy or somebody could get seriously hurt or killed because of what’s happening. That’s the most pressing issue.

The eyewitness who observed all from her porch just gave a telephone interview. So much credit to her. She is upset of course, but she is clear about what she heard and what she saw. Murder is the bottom line. This woman just happens to live on that street.
