How sad this young woman lost her life. I truly think she was trying to extract her self from the situation. I however also think the agent thought she was trying to run him down. I don’t think he started his day thinking I’m going to shoot any one in my way. She didn’t start her day thinking I am going to run over an Ice Agent. It all happened in a split second and was truly a heartbreaking tragedy. As far as all the brainwashing comments being made imho this cuts both ways. Tensions are running high in these situations and here as well. What’s the answer I don’t know. I just wish peace and love to everyone.
As I understand it

-The first shot went thru her windshield when he was to the front of her car and perhaps "feared for his life"
-The next two shots went thru her driver side window at a 90 degree angle - was he still in fear ?
-When he saw her bleeding out and walked away and left the scene - was he still in fear?
-When an on scene doc wanted to offer assistance to her and the other ICE agents did not allow it - were they in fear for their lives too ?

The difference is that the ICE guy is paid to keep his cool. If he's that bad at his job, then he should be fired and he should not receive immunity for being incompetent.

But that’s just the thing, they don’t want to diffuse anything, they want to escalate. I will get banned eventually, I know, but I’m screaming internally because it’s so unreal how blind you people are (this is a generalisation, not aimed at anyone directly). I grew up in a country that was occupied by the USSR. You have had it good for so long and have become so complacent with the everyday horrors like school shootings and whatnot and you are not seeing that nobody will fix this but you, your government won’t suddenly wake up and realise that oh wait, maybe we shouldn’t be lying murderous scumbags. History is repeating and you aren’t doing anything because you are shellshocked and ignorant, but this mess your country is in will not magically fix itself.

OK I grew up in the country occupying your country but since I moved to the US, I kept on saying that US has been vaccinated from neither nazism nor communism and being unvaccinated is dangerous. They won't understand you, or me. Europeans will. It seems that US is leaning to alt-right which historically never lasts as long as alt-left, but history is unpredictable.

A potentially very dangerous thing to do in the country with so many guns, people believing in the First Amendment and inherently distrusting any government. (But no one listens to me, of course.)
It's the people who very loudly proclaim that the government shouldn't be trusted who are welcoming the imposition of a police state.

Agent involved in shooting part of ICE's Special Response Team: Official

The agent involved in the deadly shooting is a member of ICE's Special Response Team (SRT), according to a law enforcement official, and is based in Minneapolis.

The agent has 10 years of experience, according to a source.

I dread to think of who else he has harmed in those 10 years...jmo

That's it. Now that his name is out, doxxing him is not prohibited. ;) and since he is not too smart, hopefully he made enemies.

Breaking: The Hennepin County District Attorney's office says they have jurisdiction to charge the ICE agent involved in the fatal Minneapolis shooting. ⚖️

Yeah, that’s a good saying. When someone has never actually had their arse on the line and has grown up with the illustrated history of the world that tells them they are the heroes of everything, they will lack the generational trauma that goes with the horrors of alt movements (be it fascism or communism, both are scum). Seems like the land yearns a good civil war to remind people of why being an arsehole and supporting arseholes is a bad idea.

True. I am thinking of historical precedents. These people are neither wealthy nor educated and their stance is mostly linked to the feeling that they are disadvantaged. Lumpenized people are unpredictable.

Which can always happen here, but I am afraid that any war these days can turn nuclear. This is the biggest fear.

One video in this series of videos clearly shows an officer getting bumped by the front of the deceased woman's car as she very rapidly accelerates away. Though I still don't think she truly intended to run the officer over, what she decided to do was not a good idea.

Excellent breakdown by CNN. I was looking around for a video showing how the agent/shooter got in the front of the car in the first place. Didn’t see that one yet.

The easiest explanation for why so many people are seeing so many different things with the same video has to do with a lot of people want to confirm their priors, IMO. That has a very profound impact on perception.

Here’s to hoping that there’s a good, clean investigation that people are willing to accept even if it goes against their priors. I don’t have a lot of confidence in that, but that’s the best we can hope for at this point.

And is that really their best possible defense now? That he was ‘primed’ to shoot because of this alleged prior incident?

If so, it’s a failure of leadership, from his supervisor all the way up to Noem. Apparently this man was so mentally disturbed by this prior incident he couldn’t think clearly now, and yet was armed and on duty.
To me, it sounds like an admission of guilt on his behalf to assert he was reacting to past trauma rather than the actual events.

My adult son and I were just talking today about how every renaissance first needs dark ages. Neither era lasts forever.

Still, let's lean toward the light, not the dark.

And it’s a very legitimate fear and what’s even worse, when it happens, it’ll be streamed live and no-one will stop it. WW2 ended 80 years ago, Soviet Union fell less than 40 years ago. And the human kind has learned nothing.

Has anyone checked Orwell’s grave? He must be spinning so much he should have exited it by now.

Live on CNN there is a bad clash between ICE agents and protesters. They're firing tear gas pellets or something and their weapons are drawn.
This isn't good.
IMO.

It is not ICE job to be present at protests. They are not police. Why are they even there?

Being present at protests is a local LE thing. ICE has failed from the beginning to communicate in any capacity with Minneapolis LE. I don’t doubt they’re continuing that trend.

Why is any federal agency making its presence known in state protests? To impose the will of the current federal government on the people, and to try and bully them into believing their opinions and defiance don’t matter.

Since the agent who murdered Renee had been dragged by a car in June, and it's only January, how extensive were his injuries? If he was wearing a full uniform, they have lots of stuff they carry, and are covered head to toe. Did he get some road rash? Broken bones? What aftercare did he receive from ICE? Was he counseled? If not, why? Who released him as fit for work?

Why wasn't his first instinct to deescalate, as clearly outlined in their own training manual? What punishment will he receive for clearly disobeying guidelines? He wasn't a recent hire, ten years, IIRC.

Why was the doctor present not allowed to attend to her, and instead, ICE claimed there was a medic, yet no medic showed up until the EMTs arrived? Why was the ambulance not allowed through?

I hope all of this is answered, but the whitewashing and propaganda is already in high gear. Kristi Noem was pi88ing on everyone's leg, telling us it was raining. I know what I saw. George Orwell, indeed.

The shooter comes from the car in front. He had already passed the car.

Cyclical things happen, sadly. (( It is like pandemics. I feel sorry for the Zoomers, the Alphas, and the animals.

During WW2 and the Cold War the leaders were smarter and the weapons, weaker. It is the combination of the strength of the weapons and the weakness of the heads...

He didn’t let go of the inside of the vehicle/the occupant after he smashed the window, reached into the vehicle to try to unlock the car, and the occupant started driving away. He received some pretty gnarly cuts to his wrists from the window he shattered, from what I read. I’ll try to find it.

ETA: “The agent got his arm stuck in the window of a vehicle of a driver who was fleeing arrest on an immigration violation, and was dragged roughly 100 yards down a street before he was knocked free. During the incident, the agent fired his Taser and prongs struck the driver but did not incapacitate him, according to prosecutors….

The officer’s right arm was bleeding, and an FBI agent applied a tourniquet. Eventually, he was transported to a hospital, where he received more than 50 stitches. Prosecutors said he had “suffered multiple large cuts, and abrasions to his knee, elbow, and face.“
