I think Ross might have overreacted due to his previous trauma of getting dragged by a vehicle. It's very telling that not a single other officer unholstered, or even reached for, their weapons. It's very possible Ross should never have been back on duty due to PTSD. Clearly this is a serious training/review failure at ICE.
That is completely possible.

I have watched several videos from different angles .
I’m not a person who attends protests for my own safety . And I have a degree in criminal justice.
The agent could have shot the tires instead of firing three shots into the vehicle. There was a dog in the backseat, there could have been a child in there .
I’ve tried to put myself in Good’s place , what would I have done?
After the first office said leave i would have attempted to leave also.

So they shouldn't be prepared to defend themselves if a situation turns life threatening? They can't read minds and tell when a situation is going to go from non threatening to threatening in a second.
Shooting/killing a citizen should be a last resort. He jumped pretty much instantly to this reaction. Jmo.

In the video taken by the ICE agent/shooter, it sounds like the woman outside, filming and talking, is referencing herself as a former military member. She says, "U.S. citizen, former _____________. You want to come at us?" Anyone able to actually decipher what she says after "former"?

Long time lurker and, obviously, first post. What I have always enjoyed about Web Sleuths is the presentantion of evidence, be it images or video or whatever. The intelligent discussions. There is something I would like to bring up that I haven't noticed much discussion about the entire thread. What happened before? I haven't yet seen any video or images of what happened before the video we see. What were the circumstances that led to the encounter. Yes, ICE, ICE hecklers, but the sequence of events.

Earlier this image was posted saying the Red Honda was in the middle of the road.

That solid white line is the edge of the road. Behind Mr. Ross (the shooters) foot is the dotted white line showing the middle of the road. The Red Honda is indeed blocking the right lane of the one way road. It is not the middle of the road. So what happened here? The silver SUV was driven by Mr. Ross if I remember from earlier in the thread. Either way, it is blocking her leaving? Something else? From the beginning of the video it appears that she is moving forward to go around the silver SUV but stops and waves other vehicles to go on ahead. If her intention was to block the road she was doing a bad job. It almost seems like she was maybe trying to leave where she had parked (?) and maybe the silver SUV attempted to stop her? Is this why Mrs. Good said something like 'I'm not mad at you?'. What was she not mad about? Being blocked from leaving? If she was trying to leave why was her wife not in the Honda with her at this point? Maybe they both were leaving but her wife got out after the Silver SUV blocked them from leaving? I think the events before the shooting are just as important.

This is an image from Google maps of where the shooting took place. Unless things changed since the image was taken in 2022 the layout of the road and lines are more apparent when not covered by snow.

Usual disclaimers opions etc all.
Thank you! Every day brings another detail that makes it easier to understand what happened.

At first, there is shock and outrage. Then we go back and carefully examine the details. Slowly it starts to make sense as a tragic accident where the driver chose to ignore officer directives, and the officer interpreted those actions as a threat.

"Macklin, whose father is a Christian street preacher, struggled to make sense of Good’s death.

“I wish she would’ve minded her business and stayed out the way,” he said, but added, “I know families are being broken apart … and it’s heartbreaking, but now it’s our family.”

Of course they should. But the standard in LE is what a reasonable officer would determine as life-threatening.

An estimated 250,000 civilian injuries are caused by law enforcement officers annually.

Our government shouldn't be in the habit of executing civilians.

Did he call her a "fu**ing bi**ch" because of his previous trauma? No, that's not it.
I'm not suggesting he doesn't have some serious character flaws.

He doesn't have "trauma". Ross created the dragging incident because he's on a power trip. Any normal person would not break a window and tase someone in order to prevent them from leaving. They would take the plate and call for assistance. But boy did he complete his vengeful task by murdering Renee! JMO

And I 100% agree that it should be a last resort. I think it was a split second reaction to draw and fire with how fast everything happened and he made the wrong decision considering he had time to move out the way to avoid being hit

Did you watch all the videos? Especially the one from today from his own iphone? His actions were deliberate and vengeful. It's all on tape, including him calling her a "fu**ing bi**ch" after he shot her in the face 3 times.

If that video can't convince someone that the officer was not bumped or hit, then I give up. At 4:05, the moment the first shot rings out, there is nobody in the path of the vehicle.

I drive a very similar Honda pilot. I'd like to suggest everyone who is confused about the speed and trajectory of her vehicle to do the following.....find a safe place like an empty parking lot, put your vehicle in drive (with your foot on the brake), now let off the break slowly then quickly. Come back and let us know your experience.
My friend has a v8 suv and it will go quickly with the foot off the brake.

Just my opinion as always

I still don't buy that ICE has any authority here. She was not obstructing and their authority goes flat out the window when it comes to protestors.

MOO.
Blocking the road is considered obstructing. imo

Oh I don't doubt for an instant that he created that fubar too. But getting dragged by a vehicle surely left a mark that likely affected his actions the next time he (again) failed to follow training.

Can the pro-agent people tell me why their initial behavior was appropriate? Why are we dehumanizing people? Your first reaction to someone should not be storming up to them, screaming, with your weapons drawn, trying to put your hands in their vehicle and open their door. That is what precipitated this entire incident. **Normal law enforcement would not act this way towards people.** She was not a criminal or accused of any crime. Why is ICE allowed to act this way, and why are we celebrating ICE acting this way?

This was an incredibly needless death that could've been avoided if the agents just acted normally.

The ICE agents had every ability to defuse the situation and they did not.

The first course of action should be for a killing like this to be swiftly condemned and for certain people to state that this level of force and antagonism from ICE is not acceptable. But of course that's not going to happen, it's being egged on even further.

In my humble opinion, a highly trained military vet and law enforcement officer should be able to discern the difference between a mouthy Minneapolis mom, and someone weaponizing their vehicle with the intent to harm. This is literally what their training is about. If LE officers or military members used force on even a fraction of drivers who said mean things or didn’t immediately comply - they’d have a huge problem completing their duties. And therefore, these organizations train their members about judgement and discernment - not just about what’s lawful.

It’s truly wild to me that we are dissecting the movements of the car in such detail and not the discernment / training / judgement of the shooter.

I have always liked reading Orwell:

- "If Comrade Napoleon says it, it must be right," - George Orwell Animal Farm

- "Boxer and clover Could be brainwashed into believing whatever the pigs tell them because they are known as the most clever." - George Orwell Animal Farm

Today, "The Comrades" have imitated the same communist group thought that Orwell warns us about: The ICE agent must be at fault, because to be at fault, one must be an ICE agent.

I encourage all to resist this trend ala Orwell:

“If liberty means anything at all it means the right to tell people what they do not want to hear.”
― George Orwell, Animal Farm

In the end, the driver accelerated at the officer.
I'm basing my conclusion on all of the videos, not what others are telling me to believe. I don't see a woman trying to ram into an an officer. I see a woman trying to get away because she feels threatened. The way she has the wheels turned is what convinces me.

Oftentimes military vets make terrible law enforcement officers.
