I recall a time when this site was very pro LE. What happened???? Been here 23 years. A sea change has occurred, not for the best. Let's see if this is taken down.......

Websleuths has always been pro-LE unless there are questions or indications pointing to the possibility that LE may be in the wrong or have committed a crime ... which is the subject of this discussion.

Actually, the immigration enforcement officers have been dehumanized while they are doing their job which is to arrest and then deport illegal immigrants.
Maybe they should take their masks off then 🤷‍♀️

I'm sure Renee's loved ones are asking the same question.
IMO.

Their lives matter and they have a right to protect themselves and their families while on the job. Seeing all the anti LE sentiment, I am on their side.

Facts matter, not emotional baiting. Research is crucial.

There’s way too much hate against ICE as a whole. imo

Now might be a good time for the rest of the thread to be read. As we have been linking the published facts since Page One.

Agreed but I have not seen honest data to support your theory.
US immigration officers made false and misleading statements in their reports about several Los Angeles protesters they arrested during the massive demonstrations that rocked the city in June, according to federal law enforcement files obtained by the Guardian.

The officers’ testimony was cited in at least five cases filed by the US Department of Justice amid the unrest. The justice department has charged at least 26 people with “assaulting” and “impeding” federal officers and other crimes during the protests over immigration raids. Prosecutors, however, have since been forced to dismiss at least eight of those felonies, many of them which relied on officers’ inaccurate reports, court records show.

The recently exposed body cam of the ICE officer hit is mighty persuasive. It's being suppressed but still available for those with an open mind. [Mod edit]

This has ZERO to do with MN.

Has the Medical Examiner ruled on the manner of death?

There is frequent use of the word “murder” in this thread. Murder is a specific legal determination, generally defined as the unlawful and premeditated killing of one person by another. While that may ultimately be the conclusion, it has not been established at this point. IMO until the Medical Examiner and the appropriate legal authorities have made their findings, the manner of death remains undetermined.

The recently exposed body cam of the ICE officer hit is mighty persuasive. It's being suppressed but still available for those with an open mind. Supreme Court ruled on this. He was in imminent danger and acted.

It wasn't bodycam video, it was his phone camera (he was videoing with his phone), and it is linked here several times. Please read the thread.

There are some external factions that have not been taken in consideration here. Minnesota has been front and center a target for the trump admin. The mayor was not exactly welcoming a heavy ICE presence so there were heavy tensions from the onset. ICE agents are not police officers although it seems JR may have had cross-over careers. The training ICE officers recieve is not remotely to the same standards as LE. If JR was dealing with PTSD from his encounter this summer there is no way he should have been involved in what they knew would be contentious environment. The political climate in the US is unprecedented. There has never been such a complete divide in the population. The whole scenario was a disaster waiting to happen. This case will set precedents and by the way Vance, Noem and Trump have exonerated JR things will get worse. There is no chance that there will be an unbiased investigation into this. They pretty much confirmed this yesterday. Let's just hope cooler heads will prevail in the future but I'm sceptical.

<modsnip: Quoted post was removed>

Sounds like an out of the loop of a decade or so of reality here,
I am pro-LE. But I am not pro-untrained-LE-with-a-quota-based-on-skin-color.
I don't think that any police department would have handled the situation by KILLING a mild protester. I give those LE officers credit. I hope you would too.

The 'sea change' that you refer to, IMO, represents the fact that ICE is showing up and arresting people without due process. They don't follow the rule of law. I believe that Websleuths has always been about the rule of law and I hope they will continue to do that.
ICE is a made up group sent to terrorize communities, throw their big guns and verrrry scary outfits that were designed to invoke fear, oh they LOVE IT. Look and act like they do with the big killer guns to look for the desperate to live decently 'illigal' aliens, who designed all that? Who are they, we know. Where did they each come from, we know. Don't think they are the standard, vetted, trained in all aspects of being a 'peace officer'. They came about in these massive numbers under this non white people hating admin. Justify your reasons to feel 'comfortable' with yourselves, not wanting ILLIGAL ALIENS around you, horrors. 'Your' excuse for being a fearful and intellectually limited, clearly, person of people not 'white' who's ancestors came here for the same reasons enabling 'YOU' to spew about today. IMO

That wasn't body cam. That was his cell phone video.
And it's not suppressed, it's widely available online. Even in this very thread.
IMO.

MN is proving to be a benchmark in corruption. I am ALL FOR sunlight as a disinfectant to these vile deeds. <Modsnip: not allowed>

Why? Given the amount of hate directed at them, it’s understandable that they fear for their own safety and that of their families. With all the doxxing going on, I wouldn’t want to take my mask off either.

I am for LE also! But there are times when serious fatal mistakes are made including by LE. I believe that is the case here.
