That was the argument at first, wasn't it - "we're not against immigration, just do it the right way".And people who ARE doing it the right way are being detained when they show up for immigration hearings at courthouses. They are legally waiting for their green cards or asylum requests to go through the system, and are legally allowed to wait IN COUNTRY while this process occurs, as long as they show up to their hearings. But they are being detained and deported when they show up to their meetings. If they DON'T show up to their meetings, they are deportable, and somehow in this twisted world, they are deportable when they DO show up for their meetings. So saying they need to do it "the right way" and ending the conversation does not do justice to the reality of this year.
