Murder charges filed against man accused of killing 3 women in Kansas City’s Northland

A Kansas City man is facing nine charges related to the shooting death of three women and a dog early Sunday morning, court documents state.

They were confirmed to be related as granddaughter, daughter, and grandmother, respectively. The surviving victim is Hailey Hopcus’s sister, Jodie Hopcus’s daughter and Duncan’s granddaughter.

According to court documents, the victim who survived told police her mother– Jodie Hopcus- and her boyfriend, Navarro, had been arguing — “something that happens quite often.”
