Brandy Morrison was reported missing on January 28th.

Her family said they received phone calls about her disappearance pointing them to a house on Laura Avenue.

On Monday, a fire broke out in a home on the 6200 block of Laura. Morrison's family believed that fire was related to her disappearance.

Cadaver dogs found the body of a young woman in a landfill Tuesday after St. Louis homicide detectives seeking a missing person traced the trash collection route from a city neighborhood to the dump, Marissa Police Chief Tom Prather said Tuesday.

Two suspects are charged in the death of Brandy Morrison, 23, whose body was found in a landfill in Marissa, Illinois Tuesday.

Paulren Stepter, 51, and Courtney Williams, 40, are charged with tampering with physical evidence and abandonment of a corpse. Williams is also charged with first-degree murder and armed criminal action...

Tuesday morning, the medical examiner's office said the woman had been shot in the head before her body was discarded.

St. Louis man facing charges in third murder case over three decades

ST. LOUIS • A man facing a murder charge in the 2017 shooting death of a woman whose body was found dumped in a Metro East landfill has been charged in a 2016 killing in St. Louis.

Paulren Stepter, 52, of the 6100 block of Laura Avenue, was charged with first-degree murder and armed criminal action in the Dec. 23, 2016, shooting death of Arnold Adams. Adams, 40, was found fatally shot about 6:30 a.m. at Martin Luther King Drive and North Cardinal Avenue in the city's Jeff-Vander-Lou neighborhood.
