"The FBI, along with the other agencies here, as well as a half dozen other agencies, are offering assistance to the Senath Police with resources 24-hours a day," Baker said. "We have been searching by air, with dogs, on water and land. The community has turned out with resources, along with Breeann witnesses. We thank the people in this community for their help, especially with hot it has been."

I am so happy to see them using dogs....

I have a Question what does this statement mean?

along with Breeann witnesses.

Wow, looking at the map again, I get such a sick feeling seeing the huge area of fields surrounding Breann's neighborhood. :(

I know nothing about cornfields, so perhaps someone can answer - what is the typical width between rows of corn? I read where the father said people were searching on their ATVs or four wheelers; can one of those type vehicles navigate between the rows of corn, or would you need searchers to walk through?

Just thinking of how hard it would be to spot this little one in a field of tall corn, and how long it would take to cover all that area. :(

ETA: Corn Rows are about 23 inches apart. Length varies on Field size

It really doesn't matter what the statistics say at this point, anything is possible. Averages and statistics don't mean a thing to a family whose small child has disappeared. Anything could have happened. Predators don't always stalk a target and plan an abduction, sometimes they see an opportunity and grab it. It could be a total stranger or it could be someone they know, even a relative.

You're 100% correct. Heck, it could be a woman. Remember Sandra Cantu? Who would've thought a Sunday School Teacher, granddaughter of the Pastor could do such a heinous crime. Nowadays, nothing can be ruled out and I think that is why many times these cases go cold and unsolved. Where do they even begin? Hopefully, that's not the case here. Praying she will be found soon.

The cornfields I am familiar with don't have much space between the rows. I would not want to take an ATV between them, even one person walking would have to be constantly swiping the leaves out of their face. I don't think the farmers would appreciate their crops being mowed down by a bunch of ATV's. To me, they are a scary place. Go far enough into the rows, and you can't see an end in sight in either direction.

People who may have seen her before her disappearance to get some sort of timeline?

Thank you, I was really scratching my head on that one...:waitasec:

That's what I was afraid of. Go far enough in, even for an adult it seems it could be disorienting and scary. A four year old, that much worse. :(

I was so glad to read the quote above that they're searching from the air. Still, as you mentioned, there's the leaves - they might still make it hard to see between the rows. But hopefully they'd spot her pink clothes in that sea of green?

I'm finding it really hard to be optimistic in this case. :( gonna try to focus on the case Ms F mentioned earlier, where the little girl was taken but found safe later...

Wonder if they could use the Thermal Infrared Camera on helicopters on the corn and cotton Fields at night,
Her body heat would show up on them....

It is a Huffy Sea Star, but that is not the same color. The only size that I am able to find in that color is the 16", which is much bigger, IMO, than the 10" I was picturing.

This is the bike... http://www.walmart.com/ip/Huffy-16-Girl-s-Sea-Star-Bicycle-with-Training-Wheels/14122731

The age given in the product description indicates age start as 4 to 5, and some folks in the reviews mention getting it for their 4 yr olds birthdays.

My 6 yr old rides a 16 inch that we keep the seat adjusted for as he grows - it's not big at all, really, and even though its an older bike (used to belong o my 14 yr old) it's still very light and could be tossed into a truck or van easily, unfortunately. :/

I am having a hard time picturing her riding her bike into the corn field and going far enough in to not be found. I realize that the corn fields are dense and at this time of year are fully grown, but to go from riding her bike in the neighborhood to riding her bike in the corn field, I'm having a hard time with.

I am really feeling htat she was picked up by someone.

So there are cotton fields in addition to the corn? Can anyone give us an idea of row widths, etc, and how tall the plants get, basically what searching them would entail?

Thanks! My 4yo got her 1st bike on her 3rd birthday and we got her the 10" or 12" bike. The 16" just seems so much bigger. I guess it probably isn't. I may have to swing by the store to see one.

Cotton and Corn have a standard of 23 inches of clear tractor tire row and 12-18 inch's of mound growing area.

The cotton would be at max height this time of year, about 24-30 inches

The corn could be about 4 feet to 6 feet high depending if it is a rotation crop this year...

It is VERY difficult when corn is at harvest for an adult to walk in.

And depending on the soil it would be hard to ride a bike of any kind in Corn or Cotton Field.

Has anyone seen the size of the bike Breeann was riding? I was thinking it was a 10", as that is the size that my daughter has, so pretty much the smallest regular bike with training wheels. However, in searching for the bike online, I can only find that particular model in a 16" size, which is a significant difference to the size of the bike that I was envisioning. Does anyone know?

I've found the Huffy Sea Star bike (as shown in the photo above) in 12" size, I would think that would be very managable for a nearly 4 year old. I can't remember how tall Breeann is, but my niece was quite tall at that age and out grew her 12" by 4 years old!

What keeps boggling my mind is what "evidence" they are having tested. If they have "evidence" does that mean they have "leads?"

You would think they could, but I guess I wonder if they have them readily available.

The link to the article posted above regarding the little boy, they used heat sensing equipment starting after 7:30 pm.

I'm hoping they will do the same for Breeann.

Honestly I have a hard time with picturing it too, especially with no sign of the bike left nearby. But there's an off chance she wandered in, or even was lured in by an adult, older kids, etc.

I do hope (and assume) they're running a two prong investigation, one of a possibly abduction by vehicle, and one of a possible lost in fields/lured into fields.

Like I said, I'm finding it hard to be optimistic. Maybe I'm focusing in on the fields because if she is lost in there, guess it would be the "least bad" of all possibilities...?? :(
