Hmmm... I just came back from a Canadian chain store called Zellers with my daughter and we looked at bicycles. ALL of the small bikes have THEIR OWN TYPE of training wheels on them and they are all adjustable with huge bolts to tighten. Each bike has it's own pattern, color, image e.g. Elmo, etc.

The dad would know if the wheels belong to that bike and so would the police. So why is there still a question about the training wheels?? Either the wheels match the bike or they don't. I want to know if the neighbours have seen Breeann on her bike with the training wheels or if there is a photo of her on it riding around.

Man oh man, I hope Breeann is OK. I'm not surprised that the parents were polygraphed as it's expected in all of these types of cases: look at the family first. I hope they aren't involved. I hope Breeann is OK.

Hi
Just wondering...
Was her bike brand new with training wheels OR 2nd hand/hand me down? sometimes training wheels are worn and new ones are purchased and replaced then they won't match up with the bike.

O/T For those who like US chain Target... soon those Cdn Zellers stores will be converted to Target...Target bought Zellers from Hudson's Bay Co.

I wonder if there is anyone from either the mother or the father's past who may be seeking revenge on one of them by taking Breeann.

My thoughts exactly! I've been thinking all along a relative, but NOT the parents. I think Bree would jump at the chance to ride with a relative she knew....

You can definitely buy training wheels separately. They're pretty generic and don't really "match" a bike. Of course, some may come with their own, but often those are fairly generic also. I guess it depends on the bike.

What 3 YO sleeps till 10:30/11 am unless they were up super late the night before or was sick? Has anything been said about what was going on at the house the night before? The day before?

I simply can not imagine a perp taking the child with the bike and then removing and dumping training wheels. Makes zero sense to me, zero.

I am not caught up yet from yesterday. I'll go back and read the previous thread from where I left off.

BBM 1...agree...
BBM 2....don't you need a screwdriver or a wrench to remove training wheels off a bike? But then again....if they were loose it may not be difficult...but why waste the time?

I wonder if the police are looking at any connections between missing children, or any attempted kidnappings.

I find it so disturbing a thought: Someone riding around and picking up/kidnapping children for sinister purposes. Makes me want to just scream!

May I ask you a question, since you have little ones. Do they brush their teeth on their own? Or do you help them? Do you help them get dressed? How about getting breakfast? Do they do that on their own? How the father worded that seems that she did this all by herself. TY.

I know others have already chimed in on this one, but this timeline and the associated questions interest me also.

My kids are 3 and five. They sleep and rise with the sun. So in the summertime their bodies seem to want them to be up and about around 5:30 - 6:00 (!) and in the winter closer to 7:30 - 8:00. I can recall exactly two occasions in which they slept past nine -- both at Christmas, when the combination of excitement and sheer exhaustion overrode their sidereal better selves.

My three year-old, who is clever and wants desperately to be big, would have a hard time dressing and shoeing himself head to toe, brushing his teeth and finding his way outside to his bike, getting on it, and taking off without once asking for help or updating someone on his progress. His older brother, maybe.

The geography also bothers me a bit. Both my kids are happier biking along a "route" they know well -- back and forth, back and forth, than they are in racing off into new territory. They like to be watched, and be close to home -- not sure if this is general or peculiar to them. I'd be interested to know what B's usual routes were, relative to where the training wheels were found.

I can't really comment on the parents' demeanour -- in my limited experience here it has varied widely between distraught parents, difficult to predict involvement on the basis of a few comments IMHO.

Here's hoping for a speedy safe return!

What do you mean by Disney Princess bike? I haven't seen anything about a Disney Princess bike.

I was just thinking it would have been appropriate for her to have a Disney Princess model vs the Sea Star, because she apparently like princesses. Nothing about the case....JMO. Sorry for the confusion.

I find it so difficult in cases like this because we just do not know what LE has done during their investigation so far. Have they checked the family vehicles? Have they done any searches inside the home for blood, etc? What if one of the parents backed over this precious child?

I am finding the searches so confusing! Why would they find the training wheels??!! Where is Breeann??

Hoping and praying they find her today!

Oops sorry about that TGI and everyone.., it does look like that is what I was saying...Sorry...I will be carefuller next time in my post...:blushing:

You would think they have at least done a thorough examination of the home, but I am beginning to wonder if we'll even KNOW. It still irks me somewhat that they won't release the third piece of evidence they've found. It's not clothing so all I can imagine is "tracks" or yet another piece of a bicycle.

Thanks for the clarification! My 4yo daughter has never really been too into princesses and for her 3rd birthday, we got her the same bike that Breeann has, only we got a smaller version, which came in a different color. The bike was crap and was falling apart within days, so we did return it and ended up getting the princess model, which was actually more expensive.

I can see how Breeann's father would possibly get frustrated with the training wheels, as those were an issue with our original bike. They kept falling off, no matter how tight we tried to get them and just did not offer much stability for our new bike rider.

The third piece of evidence really has me puzzled...

Remember they said that some of the evidence made them think negatively,
I wouldn't think the Training wheels would do that....

It's kind of funny with this case that there seems to be little input from neighbors and other family members in the media.

More than one in Jonesboro. Also at least one in McAllen, TX.

That said, I don't see anything weird or suspicious or anyone's pages. Typical FB stuff. Just wonder if anyone in very extended family, or relatives-by-marriage might be involved. Someone not very close to the family, perhaps. Especially since the evidence was found south of town; but then again, south leads to a lot of places, and the evidence might still be a red herring.... :sigh:

I found those too. McAllen is only 10 miles from the border.

First, I apologize for jumping in when I haven't read all of the threads, but something occurred to me. What if the person who took her lived very close. They could have taken the bike too, because otherwise it would be sitting abandoned close to their house. Then they could have tried to divert attention by dumping the training wheels elsewhere.

Sorry Daisy - was just hoping to find a reason or place that she might have been taken south, continuing in the direction where the evidence was found; wasn't really trying to snoop on relatives, just looking for places.

And speaking of south, I still don't like that big swamp/wilderness area to the southeast of town. And I hope they're looking good in those irrigation canals, especially if they are full at this time.

Do irrigation ditches/canals/channels (still don't know thhe correct term!) have a current? Do they flow, in other words, or is the water still?
