If someone they know in some way took Breeann, there is a much better chance she is alive, IMO. Maybe the kidnappers intended to "ransom" her, but can't, with all of the LE and media attention. If this is the case (just a guess, of course) maybe they will leave her off someplace safe...

This seems like a potential standoff, and it seems like Breeann might be the bargaining chip. If they know who has her, perhaps they can't say for fear that she'll be hurt. And the person who has her might not want to let her go out of fear they'll be identified by the family.

I'm wondering, though, how planting the training wheels would help to resolve this.

I wonder if Breeann left with her father that morning.

Sad case... What if she was out riding her bike down the street. Maybe a neighbor, or someone she knows by sight tells her how well she is riding the bike. Tells her they bet she could ride the bike with the training wheels taken off.( This is such a big deal to kids, even little kids). Tells her to come into their garage/house, it will only take a second to take off the wheels... removed the wheels to win her trust. Disposes of her and the bike quickly, but then realizes the wheels are in the garage . Just a thought.... I do not really think her father is at all involved. MOO

Sleuthing the family is not appropriate at this time.

Nor is talking about private messages.

..thanks.

..i wasn't sure how to ask a 'mod' the question----i attempted to "report" my own post, but that didn't appear to be the way to go.

..having re-read the rules----i see what you mean, we have no POI's/suspects etc. at this time.

..thank you for chiming in "she-who-must-not-be-named".

I just heard about this tonight on NG (it just went off here). I came to WS and there is already 2 threads! I will go back and read.

What a beautiful little girl. Off to go read now, thanks for having so much info already.

..he says that when he left at 10 she was asleep. the mom says breeann got up at approx. 11...

I should have said, IMO, I think she left with her dad. LOL

I got to get some sleep, working in the morning.

I have four children, and I have never, ever been a morning person. During the summer months and Saturday's, we easily sleep in until 10 or 11am, but my dh goes to bed early and gets up early for work. Now that school is back in, it's killing us to get up early, but I'll bet we will all be in bed until 10am this Saturday. My 4 year old and I got up this morning, carried my others to school, and went right back to bed.

This doesn't make me an unfit parent to not have conventional bedtimes. My children get plenty of rest. It is just at a different time frame than most. I am a much more patient and loving mommy when we all sleep in. :)

Just sharing my situation to show that not all children are early risers.

I have a 1 year old and a 2 year old. DH works 9-9 5 days a week, so the only chance the kids have to see him is at night. They go to bed around 11-11:30, and sleep until around 10 or so.

Different strokes for different folks!

I have struggled with this all my life. I do not function well in the mornings. It doesn't matter how much or little sleep I have had. Similarly, even if I have been drained all day I start perking up around 9:00 pm.

When I was young I was all about climbing the corporate ladder so I wanted to have the daytime type job. It seems morning type schedule everything before 9:00 am (grrr).

Now I don't care about "career" so much and just have an on-going issue with being at work timely enough to keep my job. Left to my druthers or even long weekends I quickly revert to a "nite owl".

Over the years I watched the neighborhood school children running/playing/socializing on the way to the bus. A few minutes later I would see Jack tagging along like a zombie. His siblings were up-and-at-em but him..not so much. I always felt for him. I use to think maybe he stood a chance of society understanding better as he aged. Sadly, probably not.

I don't think sleeping until 10 am should be consider suspect. Just as I don't think a person up at 2 am should be viewed as part of a dark underworld.

Thanks for helping educate others....

Again, children learn what they are taught. My kids would have never been allowed to get up at 5:30. I always instructed them to stay in bed until a decent waking hour, of which 5:30am is not. Eventually, they learn to sleep in. I hate mornings, but the fact that I do and have taught my children to sleep late does NOT mean I would ever harm them or that "something wasn't right" in our home. My children are loved and cherished, but we sleep late. Different strokes for different folks!

Same here... sleeping late isn't a problem. Everyone really is different.
Now when the person hasn't seen their 3 year old in 12 hours AND is sleeping till Noon I might have an issue there.

It doesn't matter if I go to sleep at 11pm or 5am... I just cannot get up before 8am. If I have to be up before 8am I just don't go to bed. :waitasec:

My kids go to bed about 10pm during the summer... sleep until 9am or 10am. 11am wouldn't be odd.
Though #2 is also up at 1am and 4am... she hasn't slept through the night since the day she was born...
I generally just wait till she is up the last time at 4am... then sleep from 4am to 9am or so.

lol...OT, but this is me, too! My mother says that I was around 18 months old the first time I slept all night, and even then it was a fluke! She started just letting me play in my bed at night instead of getting up with me. She always has been a early to rise, early to bed person, and I have always been the opposite. I, too, get a second wind around 9-10pm. I just got back from Walmart at 1am, and here I am on WS, not a bit tired. Even if I do get up early, I will be exhausted in the AM hours, but perk up at night again. It takes me For.ev.er to fall asleep at night, but I can drift right off in the full sun. Maybe I'm a Cullen...who knows? lol

My children seem to do well on either schedule so far, and thrive during the school year on their 7am-9pm days. During the summer, I work them into a 10-11am to 11-12am schedule. They absolutely love staying up late, and feel like it's a summer treat!

Anywho....I just wanted to add my two bits about the sleeping patterns. While there are many oddities about this story, the fact that this little girl slept until 10 is not odd at all if that is the sleeping pattern this family engages. However, if the child normally is an early riser, and was still in bed at that time, I would be more inclined to be suspicious of that.

Of course, I wouldn't know whether this is the one that the father went to. But at least it shows that some auctions do start in the later morning, and they're not all farm auctions.

so.

Yes! I call that the "stay up all night to get up that early" move. I am less tired if I just keep going than if I lay down for a few hours.

You better believe that if I ever get up before 7am, I am surely NPO for some kind of surgery or procedure. lol That's in the middle of the freakin' night for me! lol

I think people are just wondering if that is a usual time for the family to get up. When things like this happen, it can help to know if anything was unusual about the days surrounding the event. Not so much that sleeping until 10am is weird, or unhealthy, etc...just wondering if it was the norm for this family.

http://www.cnn.com/2011/CRIME/08/11/missouri.missing.girl/

Edgar Rodriguez, the girl's father, told HLN's Nancy Grace on Thursday that he and his wife apparently failed polygraph tests administered by authorities.

"To be completely honest with you, I don't believe that we failed (the test)," he said. "(But) they said we failed it. I don't know why."

The FBI said that it showed the training wheels to Rodriguez. His belief they were from his daughter's bike was based on the distinct way he had to "manipulate the training wheels and bike to lower it for her height," according to the FBI.

"I 100% know" the wheels came from Breeann's bike, said Rodriguez. "(There isn't) even a hint of a doubt."

..basing these couple of statements on what ( we learned from the kc statement 'experts') ----according to them, it CAN be something if a person throws in "honest" "and 100%" etc-------and as sign of trying too hard to APPEAR that they're telling the truth.

Caught that too. Did you hear the extended interview, iirc, on GMA?

There is a bike in this picture... obviously I do not know for sure if it is Breeann's bike, that wasn't specified. It is certainly different than the other picture we have seen... but we still have heard nothing more than "a pink bike."
If they had found one EXACTLY like hers... (near her Aunt's house according to her Dad.) http://www.kait8.com/story/15221787/searchers-looking-for-4-year-old-missing-girl
Why not give a more detailed description? Why not release a picture and SAY "this is EXACTLY like Breeann's bike?"

I cannot find a bigger version of this picture... I enlarged it a little bit but if the original is larger that'd be wonderful.
It would also be wonderful if Breeann's parents could produce a picture of her bike. I never saw a follow up earlier from her Uncle.

The handles/grips appear to be light pink with streamers coming from them.
Then regular silver metal for the handlebars going down to where both meet.
It does not appear to have a hand brake on that left handlebar. (Some kids bikes do.)
Then there is a bit of light pink there before it turns purple.
The seat appears to be pink.
The bike appears to be light pink/purple.

I have found several that are very close... but don't have the silver, or do have a hand brake, or something else.
It is probably just slightly different than the models made now. I cannot find the exact bikes my kid's have either. They are different colors.

We have heard nothing about writing on the bike.
What does it say on it? Is it a character bike? Princess, Barbie?
Is is just a "Misty" bike or a "Starburst" a "Magna"... it almost HAS to say something on the side of it.

This one doesn't have the pink between the silver and purple...

This one has a hand brake...

:sigh: I read both threads.

Something's not quite right. The body language of both are off in interviews. Then the failed LDT's. Then the use of the qualifiers in Father's speech. :sigh:

I'm not going to come out and say it straight out because it's too soon, but man this makes my heart hurt.

We can explain away each of the above things but when we take all of them into context and compare them to other cases where those behaviors were exhibited by the caregiver of a missing child and reflect on the resolution in those cases. This is probably going to end ugly. JMHO

I really hope I'm way off base but sadly I just don't feel that I am right now. All JMHO

Good morning Everyone

:praying: Breeann is found today safe and unharmed!!!

From poking around FB, I know the family has relatives in Arkansas. I wonder if it's possible one of the extended family is responsible, and perhaps the parents have an idea, or a doubt about the relative, but perhaps feel badly for thinking it (after all, who would want to suspect their own family?), and so failed the poly for that reason?

I keep thinking of that case in Cali where the newborn was taken by the grandmother from northern to southern California, after the grandmother had pretended to be preggo herself! IIRC, people were suspicious of the parents in tha case as well, as they were the last to see the infant, no one heard a car outside (although baby-snatcher granny, it turned out, had a taxi out there waiting for her and the child! :ohoh:)... Etc.
