This bike is a 12" bike, similar to pic onsale at walmart. Looks very similar, if not the same bike that LE put out there

Does look very similar. Could be easy to get the two confused. My daughter who is almost 4 rides this one. She is not comfortable on a 16". And she is tall for her age, well thats what people tell me. I assume she just looks big since her head has always been in the 100th percentile.

So it must be the 16" bike. Since thats what is on the first page, and they say it is similar. Now Let me check out my sons bike. I can not imagine someone grabbing that size bike and going. Now the 12" i can see.

Yeah now see that 12 inch one looks more "pink and purple" to me. I saw that one on there and wondered if that's the actual bike. I wonder if LE even knows what the bike looks like? I wonder if the family even knows really

I don't know... this case is so confusing in regards to info that is out there. As if there is not enough confusing info regarding this case already.... I just found a video on Google that makes the bike/training wheel part of this case even crazier. The reporter states that "police say the training wheels they found look just like these" at about 35 seconds into the video. Now the training wheels on the bike in the photo and the one in the video do not look the same to me at all :banghead:

Yes. I can not see it happening. To grab the girl and then the bike, or grab the girl on the bike. Two hands are needed to place bike in a van. Seems to much of a risk of her possible screaming.

Yes the training wheel is strange. My childs is just white. On the bigger bike I do not know. And yes, maybe taking a peak a a pic, and saying yes that is it. But never really checking size or if it was it. Wish they had a pic of her on it.

I was just re-reading an article from yesterday & I think this is important for us to file away for some reason.
Edgar Rodriguez and Claudia Ramos, parents of missing 3-year-old Breeann Rodriguez, search a grassy lot where items of interest were found on Tuesay afternoon and Wednesday morning.

There is also a picture of the parents searching that area. http://www.dddnews.com/story/1752168.html

I am only able to find that bike in the same colors as has been shown in the NCMEC photo in a 16" size. A little big, I think, for her, but not unreasonably so.

Wondering if they just mucked up on the exact size of the model, cause that released photo is definitely not pink.

I read how the father said Breeann was very friendly.
http://www.news-leader.com/article/...l?odyssey=mod|newswell|text|Special Reports|s "Rodriguez said the girl is very friendly. "She'd go with anybody," he said. "

But on this one he quotes, "Rodriguez said his daughter never left the street when riding her bike, adding that she was kind of shy."

I'm finding this strange. My daughter is shy.. To the point that it could be diagnosed.

Also... what was she wearing exactly??? I have read pink shirt and blue shorts. I have read pink shorts and blue shirt. And then on an ABC link it states pink shirt and pink and purple pants!! What WAS she wearing?

You know, my son got separated from me in the mall once, and I absolutely gave security the wrong description of his shirt. Maybe no one absolutely remembers.

So the new article basically says LE says that the training wheels are new and unused, no proof that they are from Breeann's bike, and the father is saying that the training wheels that were found and were on Breeann's bike are worn and manipulated (bent for her bike), so they are definitely hers.

:waitasec:

"<snip> Karnes said the wheels are new, showing no signs of rust or age"

I believe they are saying these wheels haven't been exposed to the elements for any significant period of time, otherwise they'd see 'rust' and 'age'. They aren't saying there are no signs of use. Use <> rust / age in my mind.

I would think its tough. When I see these cases, my first thought after they describe what the child is wearing, is what is my child wearing. Right now.... red shorts, green top, and my daughter jean skirt green top with lady bugs. Probably the only reason I remember was I thought it was strange how we all have a green shirt on today, and I wonder if maybe thats a good idea, to match when we go out!

This add says it is a disney princess bike.

yeah I know, but it's from walmart and I don't really know how much anyone remembers this bike looking.

Just want to share anything that may help

I really have no idea what happened to this precious child - and right now, everyone seems suspicious to me, IMO. The problem I have with the parents being involved is that it's hard to get a 5-year-old child to lie - and consistently repeat a lie for a period of time under questioning, kwim? It would have been easier for them to say they woke up, the door was open, and Breeann was gone, rather than this story about the bike. Again, JMHO.

Does anyone - especially those of you in fields like psychology, social work, and the like - have any handy references for data that could help us understand the 5-y/o's mind? Examples - i have wondered about how reliably he could perceive and recall time, what lies a child might tell, concerns about or protocols for interviewing may be unique to children around this stage in development, etc. It has been six or seven years since I took developmental psyc, and I haven't kept up on this kind of research since I went into neuro.
