wow... I thought NG would give little Breeann at least some coverage :(

Why would somebody ditch the wheels as opposed to the whole bike?

IDK but maybe early on where they were searching LE was getting to close in finding her and he wanted to draw the attention away and to another area. He had a set of training wheels and threw them out the car window as he drove by, making LE focused the search in the wrong area.

I am glad you believe it...I am becoming such a cynic, I don't expect anyone to be found anymore, ever...

Not only do I feel like you, I have begun to feel like even if they are found there seems to be no justice done for whoever takes and murders our precious children ...

I'm pretty disappointed in NG.. no coverage for little Breann? C'mon. :(

If a child is taken in a stranger abduction - by someone, such as a SO, outside of the community - my thought is that the perp would take the bike to hide evidence. A child will likely resist a stranger trying to wrestle him/her off a bike, so the perp's fingerprints would be found on the bike (especially incriminating if the perp already has a police record). Also, it would be to the perp's advantage to allow family and friends believe that the child has wandered off, and so delay LE involvement while they conduct their own search, whereas an abandoned bike is more likely to suggest an abduction and elicit LE involvement earlier.

But, jjenny wonders why the perp would toss only the TW's and not the entire bike? If the perp wanted to conceal evidence, knowing his fingerprints are all over the bike, why would he take off the TW's and discard them where they'd eventually be found? Like BeanE, I can't imagine the perp taking the time to remove the TW's while holding a little girl prisoner in his vehicle. If he drove a vehicle too small to contain the bike b/c of the TW's, I think the perp might throw the bike in his trunk, leaving it open, and speed down the road before removing the TW's. But, again, why discard them? The TW's alone would not take up much space in any vehicle - even a small car. The perp could have stashed the detached TW's in the trunk beneath the bike, or on the floor of the car.

IMO, the perp returned to the area where LE had been searching to plant the TW's. Possibly, as a message to let the parents know that someone has their little girl. Or, perhaps to taunt investigators. I don't think finding the TW's offers much of a clue other than, possibly, DNA. The TW's don't offer a clue as to the location of the perp except that the perp probably lives in Senath or a surrounding community (close enough to return and to know what places were being searched).

As a psychologist, I can say that it varies from child to child. In my personal and professional experience, a child can tell a lie and stick to it - if it is coming from within the child. However, a child who is told to tell a lie and go along with a story usually can't do it for very long at that age. They may be able to keep repeating what they were told - but not be able to embellish any other details.

For example, if a child were told to lie in this case, and then were asked during questioning, "What were you and Breeann talking about while riding?" or "Did you ride side by side, or were you racing?", a 5-yr-old wouldn't have the reasoning ability to keep embellishing if they were told to repeat a certain story line -- riding bikes, went inside to get a drink, came out, and Breeann was gone. An older child may be able to continue and add to what they were told to say, but not a younger child.

I don't have research to back this up - it's just my own experience/observations. It's fairly easy to catch a young child in a lie, if questions are asked that are open-ended and address things that didn't happen.

Another observation: depending on how old the 5-yr-old is (just turned 5 or almost 6), then a 5-yr-old may not even get concerned if s/he goes back out and can't find their sibling. They may just keep riding and go play with something else, then when asked by an adult where so-and-so is later, just shrug and say they don't know. They don't (usually) have the ability to see the big picture/danger of a child being missing and will assume the other child is playing elsewhere, etc.

Hope this helps...

Thanks so much. This is really interesting, especially your last paragraph. Thanks a lot for sharing your observations!

Her father, Edgar Rodriguez is asking anyone with a four wheeler or able body to help join the search.

"We need all the help we can," said Rodriguez.

He says he spent all of Friday searching.

Meanwhile, Police Chief Omar Karnes tells Heartland News no new potential evidence was discovered Friday.

"We have interviewed several more people who have called with tips," said Karnes.
They are also working on strategy for a big search this weekend.

"We have to keep going," said Karnes.

This week fire fighters discovered two training wheels south of Senath just off a county road. Karnes says they still are waiting for crime lab results to match them to Breeann's bike. Though Edgar Rodriguez says he believes the wheels belong to his daughter.

Police say they still need information about a white van, but have no persons of interest.

Not saying this is what what happened, but just one scenario. If she was struck by a car and the bike was damaged, perp may throw the tw's out to make LE think she was abducted. Could explain the bent tw also.

**I'm thinking the brackets were bent and not the wheels themselves.

Interesting scenario but, I don't see that happening. For one the neighborhood looks pretty close together and I think a collision with a child on a bike would have been heard by neighbors.

The other thing is I would think that if Breeann had been struck by a car...there would've been some if not a blood trail and with blood the SAR or Cadaver Dogs would've picked up on that scent immediately.

What I do want to know is if the dogs picked up on ANY scent of Breeann from her front yard and where the scent ended...in front of the house, down the street, etc.

I went to go check out my daughters bike, to see how easy it is to take apart. And its the same bike as the one in the pic, from walmart. And my conclusion, I thought it would just crumple, but I think it would take some time to take the training wheels off. Which got me thinking, maybe they took the whole bike apart, accidently left the training wheels on the truck bed, and thats why its like this. Now why go through all that trouble. The more I think about this little girl, the more cases I think about, its someone close by, either a family friend, a neighboro nearby.
Whats sickens me is. That a child could be in a bedroom and LE might not even see them. KWIM. That could of taken place.

You mean a scenario similar to poor little Jessica Lunsford?

I just can't imagine a stranger abductor stopping everything to take the time to take the training wheels off a bike.

You toss the WHOLE bike into a dumpster, into a field, off a bridge, jump back in your vehicle and keep on truckin'.

The only thing I can think of - and it's a stretch - is that somebody finds the tossed bike in a dumpster or a field or a lake, takes it home to their kid, makes a big deal over how much money they spent on the bike, the kid loves it, and then... they see Breeann's bike on TV, and rather than say Oops! Gotta call LE, honey, they take off the training wheels and toss them rather than disappoint their kid and have to explain that they didn't buy the bike after all, but got it out of a dumpster.

But a stranger abductor stopping to take training wheels off a bike? Newp. Not gonna happen. :snooty:

Ok, very morbid, but what if the perp took off the training wheels, maybe the pedals or handle bars and used the frame as a weight to weigh down a body.

I know, I feel terrible for writing this.

Do we know if either parent have children from previous relationships?

What country are the parents from? Could this be money owed to a coyote, or for drugs? I can't put my finger on it, but I believe the parents, I believe she was abducted....could even be mistaken id!

Check out the childs facebook, a woman claims kfvs12 says a suspect was arrested, about 5 minutes ago, still searching!
