An hour??? I feel sick. I am usually ambivalent on capital punishment, but Shawn Morgan deserves the death penalty.

It makes me sick to think that he was most likely working on suffacating her while her family and neighbors were calling her name frantically trying to find her.:maddening:

Edit: sorry wrong house.

Did they search pools when they searched the neighborhood? I never heard them mention pools... just sheds and things like that.
I guess if his was the only pool, then we wouldn't have heard mention of it though.

If he decides to kill her just to kill her... Why not just throw her in the pool and then it would look like she climbed in and drowned?
Improper fencing, yes... but he could also argue improper supervision by her caregivers... would be a whole lot better than murder.
I don't understand the reasoning here.

When we put up ours for the summer... for medical/therapy reasons... we put it in a location in our yard that is not visible from the road.
Due to buildings in our backyard, no other houses can see it either. We don't have young kids around us, they are all teens.

We take the ladder out as the kids get out of the pool. We put both covers on immediately.
It takes as long to uncover and re-cover the pool as it does for the kids to swim in it.

As far as the laws... Some areas don't require a fence if the pool is not of permanent construction.
Or if it is at least 42 inches above ground it is considered a barrier of it's own.

I can't find Senath specifically... however, much of Missouri requires a 48 inch fence... with a bunch of other rules...

They can vary on whether that applies to non permanent above ground pools... or if it is any pools that are not drained after each use. So even a large non permanent above ground pool would apply if that was the rule.

BBM: If you look above at Hollye's pictures of the house, on the right side in the back is a shed of some sort. I'm sure if LE went back there to look in the shed, they would have also looked in the pool.

I have tried to link a google map and it's not working for me. It's the waterways they are searching.

Another thing if you use Bing maps, it shows Breeann's house (using 106) two doors down from Shawns (using 119). Breeann's is closer to the dead end of Ode? It says the addresses are 158' apart...sigh

Peeking in from outside of the box, I have to keep in mind that LE was looking for a "white" van early on. Why would LE be looking for a "white" van if SM "alleges" Breeann was found standing on the pool ladder?

ETA info in bold to be clear with my thoughts.

Can someone explain please?

What is this "waterway system" that they are talking about?

How much water is in it at this time of the year and specifically this year because of such bad weather on the mainland (droughts and such).

How swift does that water move?

Where does that water run to?

Thanks if anyone can explain! :)

On her missing facebook they have a picture of the canals. There are four or five rather wide ones. Not sure about how swift and where they go though

You can see on my map the area called 5 Rivers and the area called Elk Chute Levee. These are both areas that 164 crosses. It is believed that he used one of these bridges to throw this sweet girl and her bike off into the waters.

I am just not buying the pool incident at this time. This is a statement based on what SM "alleges" happened, however, this just may not be the solid facts.

I truly believe Breeann was suffocated, perhaps with the trash bag and placed somewhere, but not buying the pool incident.

I'm not buying it either. If he wanted to kill her just because she was standing on his pool ladder then why didn't he just hold her head under water, why struggle (for what felt like an hour) to suffocate her? No way he would just take her off of the pool ladder and take her into the house and use a trash bag to suffocate her.....nope, no way. There just has to be another reason that he took her into the house and did this. He is probably lying about the location of her body because he knows that his dna is most likely on or in her body.

hollye, do you recall, was this the same area where they mentioned it looked like something had been dragged across the road.

Thank you so much Hollye!

This is just absolutely sickening, once again. But like others here, I don't believe it is the truth. I cannot for the life of me imagine why this little girl would get off a bicycle she loved riding to enter someone's yard and climb a pool ladder on her own. I'm not saying she COULD'NT, just not likely.

This heathen lured her into his home, of that I'm certain. He (like Casey) doesn't want them to know where her body is because he knows the physical evidence won't match his story. I'd be willing to bet on that.

The affidavit makes it seem like he suffocated her right after he brought her in the house, after discovering her on the ladder. I think there's a lot of missing info there. JMO

According to the probable cause statement, Morgan admitted to grabbing Breeann and carrying her inside his house as she stood on the ladder at the pool in his backyard on August 6, the day she went missing.

According to the probable cause statement, Morgan suffocated the girl using a white plastic trash bag. He told police "he felt like it took an hour for the girl to die."

What an evil demon Morgan is! My prayer is that justice is swift and deadly for him! I wish it were possible to let Breeann's father and Uncles at him...I really do wish that was a possibility.

Where are people reading that her being on the pool ladder was why he killed her? Some are saying he was angry that she was there? I don't see anything in the pdf about motive, just what he did. As far as I can tell, it just says that's where she was when he grabbed her.

Is there another pdf with more info? I am looking at this one:

If you look on Holllye's map, the camera icon is where the thing had been drug across the road. I think it is further North than the 5 rivers area.

Sorry...I don't understand what you mean. She wasn't found.

According to the probably cause statement, SM claims Breeann was standing on the pool ladder. Why would LE be looking for a white van IF SM said he found Breeann standing on the pool ladder?

There is a reason why they were initially looking for the white van before SM was arrested.

Martha, I think it's just speculation. We're just all trying to wrap our minds around the whole thing and what the motive COULD have been.

Strangely, ladders played a part of this investigation when LE was looking to the white van that could have had a ladder on it.
