I do not believe that race was the motive here. I have to ask myself this question:

]If a little blonde girl wandered in Morgan's backyard that morning, would he have let her go unharmed?

I don't believe race was an issue in this case either. MM the neighbour who was interviewed said that "all" the kids played together. This leads me to believe that the parents did not have an issue with race in regards to who their children played with.

"I keep thinking he was right there in the truck with me," said Miller. "All the kids play together out here. Shawn's got a good wife and three little kids. I feel horrible for both families. I guess it just goes to show anything can happen. You never really know.

The lingering question: Why? Authorities say they can't release details about a motive at this time

"It would be inappropriate to discuss evidence and other matters at this time," said Sokoloff

Dunklin County Prosecuting Attorney Steve Sokoloff says they also can't discuss what lead them to Morgan.

I realize that LE cannot provide details as it would jeopardize this case. It is odd that they will not say what the 3rd piece of evidence is, (when they told us what the first 2 pieces were) I am thinking it was something that showed that BR was assaulted in a sexual way. When questioned about the 3rd piece, I am guessing that is the time he stopped talking to LE.

I'd like to know which questions they "failed".
Wondering if it is the amount of time that she was out alone, or even the amount of time that it took them to call 911.
I'm definitely not trampling on these poor parents, my heart goes out to them, but am wondering if there was uncertainty in their minds about the time and that led to "failing" some questions.

I am a all eyes on my children and grandchildren type person, never leave them alone for a moment, not one. However, I do know that something could still happen to one of them in a moment and that frightens the tar out of me!

I'm overprotective, too. I never believed a child could drown in a bucket until one day my hubby left a bucket with a few inches of water in the kitchen. My grandbaby was not quite 2 and very small, she was headfirst in that bucket and it did not tip over. She had walked in the kitchen and I was there within a minute or two, scared me to death. Things happen so fast and minutes is all it takes.

Going from memory here but I do recall the Chief saying they checked the neighbors but not sure if they checked yards or what. He could`ve had Breeann in a garbage bag at home and dumped her on his way to work (if he worked that night). Maybe they should check his place of employment.

I was wondering if he could have kept her there for days....all ready gone or alive. I really think SM is quite disturbed...whether he just murdered her (sadist or racially motivated) or sexually molested her prior to the murder. They searched the areas and in outbuildings, etc, but they didn't search inside any homes...I don't think. If wrong, someone please let me know. I've read that he did and then that he did not go to work on Sat night. When did the wife come home....and why? Was it just part of her scheduled plan to return or did she get a hinky if she found out about BR? Maybe her and SM talked on the phone a few times while BR was missing, yet SM didn't mention it? Hinky meter goes off. He may have comfortable schmoozing around with the neighbor, but knew it would be telling around his wife. Sad to say, but we know there are women who turn their heads to such matters...even ones who good church attendence. *** I'm just speculating...not accusing the mother.

Something is off with his story....

As much as I hate that she is gone, at least there is closure for her family.

  • #394
We knew it was coming, but that doesn't make this news any easier to hear.

I am so impressed with how diligently everyone worked to find her.

Bless those searchers. They worked tirelessly to find her. I have been listening to the scanner and they really put all that they had into this search. I thank them from the bottom of my heart.
