GUILTY MO - Breeann Rodriguez, 3, Senath, 6 August 2011 - #6

  • #61
I had read somewhere today that the parents stated "we are at peace."

Wow, just wow!. I would not be that refined and reserved in their situation.

"We are at peace" I read it that the family is at peace as they now know that BR is finally at peace. No more wondering where he body is, that would be a huge relief to prepare them to begin their grieving process. They seem to be religious people, therefore this helps as well.

You never know how you will react to this type of situation until you go through it. You can never measure or compare someone elses pain, we all go through it differently.

“She's gonna be waiting for us in heaven,” Claudio Ramos said of her daughter, Breeann Rodriguez.

Breeann was found 10 days after she disappeared while out riding her bike. A neighbor has admitted to killing the child.

Breeann's parents say the news of their daughter's death is hard, but they're at peace.

“We feel a little better because they found her now we know she's not suffering,” Ramos said. “She's in a better world.”

I can understand the family's statement about being at peace.

Since the service will be held at a Church of Christ, I am assuming that their spiritual beliefs would mean that they realize that Breeann's body is dead, but her soul has moved on. She is now with Jesus, where there is no fear, no sadness, no pain.

The Bible tells us that once we accept Jesus as our Lord and Savior, we are assured a place in Heaven. This would mean that they can look forward to being reunited with Breeann when they die and go to Heaven.

I've put this in very simplistic terms, I'm sure that others could explain it better.

I can only imagine how hard it was for them, not knowing for sure if Breeann was really dead or if he might have left her alive somewhere, or sold her to traffickers! I too, am relieved to know that she is not still suffering!

I am not trying to speak for the family, I don't know them at all. I'm just giving some reasons why they might feel at peace even though their precious child is dead.

JMO

Her funeral should be a celebration of the joy she brought to her family during her short life on Earth, and a time of praise to God that the moment she died, her soul was wisked away from all of the evils of this earth, to live with the angels!

The church, Senath Church of Christ, is on E. Commercial Street and the cemetery is only about five blocks north of the church on Cemetery Rd. The term 'carried' could go either way, I use the term myself, frequently. It used to drive my very northern, NJ native ex insane. I believe the park they may be referring to could be Douglas Memorial Park. I only guess that because, well, I can't find a Senath Park and Douglas Memorial is almost directly across the street from the church. The funeral home is just around the corner. I think it would be beautiful if they literally carried Breeann to her final resting place. Five blocks ain't so bad. Can you imagine, all those people in white escorting her?? Wow.

Thank you. The first google item I ran into for Senath Cemetery was a paranormal site....and the rest were genealogical sites. Never did find a addy.

Five blocks would be quite a distance, but agree, it would be very touching and therapeutic for the town as well as family and friends of the Rodriguez's. A beautiful remembrance for little Breeann.

**Philly girl here...it had me puzzled. I know it is common if the cemetery is next to the church.

Man suspected of killing 3-year-old Missouri girl had conviction for bomb threat in Arkansas
Last Updated: August 18, 2011 - 11:56 am

Court records obtained by The Associated Press from Greene County, Ark., show that 43-year-old Shawn Morgan of Senath, Mo., pleaded no contest in 2004 to a misdemeanor charge of making a terroristic threat. He served one year of probation.

Well stated TGIR....it really is a simple concept when you get right down to it and it does not need a complex explanation.

I understand them being at peace but they also miss and mourn her terribly. I think those families left wondering and never knowing what happened have such a hard time finding peace.

I'm a little confused with info in the article. I can't find a Senath City Park where the memorial is to be. Also, are they saying her little body will literally be carried to the cemetery...because it's not just across the street or down the block. ?

ANSWER for Hollyblue at Thread 6, post #16

This may clarify (BeanE's quote below, in which I saw nothing re "memorial"):
Friday.........public prayer vigil at city park
Saturday.... visitation at church
Saturday.... funeral service at church

So....if body & casket are at funeral at church,
then to Senath Cemetery for burial.

My heart just breaks for them.

Thankfully they have their faith to sustain them.

Reading further into the article, it appears the DA is still considering the Death Penalty. Good!

Not sure I understand, sres. Are you saying that Eddie - Breeann's father - is a former co-worker of Morgan's from the same plant where Morgan did the bomb threats?

BBM: I posted a Google map earlier today with the Walking function from the church to the cemetery.

ETA: Here it is:

I'm coming up with .6 of a mile, a 10 minute walk from the church to the cemetery:

Disclaimer: I'm terrible with maps, directions, etc :floorlaugh:

TY al66pine. I think many peoples' views (definitions) may differ. My view of a prayer vigil is a service of prayer for the missing in hopes of bringing them home; and a memorial is a gathering for prayer after they are brought home in thanks and rememberance. Either way...it will be a beautiful thing. <3

Meanwhile, the small town of Senath, Mo., prepares to say goodbye to Breeann Rodriguez with a memorial service on Friday and funeral on Saturday.

The article I posted earlier on the bomb threats has been updated. This has been added:

"Notice if Eddie, Britt, Amy, & Gary B. aren't fire soon I will leave a bomb and blow everybody up I'm not joking Take me seriosly," read a note on May 7, 2002. Two days later, another note in the restroom read, "Bomb baby boom."

Co-workers suspected Morgan. He denied writing the notes but agreed to give handwriting samples. Police said his handwriting style and misspelling of some words matched the note.

re CARRYING breeann from church funeral to cemetery

Per phone call this afternoon to Senath city hall,
the plan is to carry casket on foot/pallbearers (not in hearse).

BeanE
Thanks again for map with 5-6 block walking route for procession.
Despite your modesty about map-savvy, you did a great job of locating the cemetery.
