So he doesn't quailify for a PD but gets one.

I'm confused on this also. The only reasons I can think of right now are: 1. He has to have some kind of legal counsel and/or 2. He will need to have a PD or group of them for the "capitol" crime out of a different jurisdiction which is also a state supported separate defense fund. Sounds like out of the larger jurisdiction of St Louis? ?????

I guess since he has a house, vehicles and probably some savings/checking he isn't indigent. I hope he only gets half of everything so his soon to be ex wife and kids have a little something.

Does anyone know, since they aren't divorced yet is he entitled to spend all that money to pay for his lawyer?

I was reading around earlier and some states will appoint one but will collect from the defendent in the end if they have the money.

I just talked with a guy that grew up with SM,,, he was completely surprised/shocked when SM was arrested.
Apparently he had not heard of the latest charges because he thought that there was nothing sexual done to the child,,, that SM had just Snapped/murdered .
I know this guy fairly well and I can tell it is going to be very hard for him to accept the ugly truth that he will soon hear.
I learned,,,, They can be invisible.

The attorney for Tonya Morgan's divorce is Shannon Wright Morgan. A relative of Shawn (Tonya's by marriage)? Her in laws are Keith and Kathy Morgan of Senath.
If so, I assume this means SM family is wiping their hands of him??

Just a gut feeling/worry but for some reason I wonder if the divorce is being done to protect assets?

I feel like I have been socked in the gut - that poor baby...I was hoping that an assault of this nature did not factor into this crime but I am afraid these new signs point to it.

Makes me equally as afraid for what he did to his own daughters.

This is how I feel, too. I wanted to believe since he hung his head in what I felt was shame and remorse that it was done out of temper/anger. My gosh my heart hurts for this beautiful child, her family and yes, even Shawn's family. I hope and pray with all my might that the daughters were spared!

They say you never know someone unless you live with them. I wonder if his wife or any of his family had any idea what was brewing inside.

I think he was referring to us discussing the idea that because there are so few, then those images may have been of little Breeann.

That is my assumption as well, that the real estate, and whatever money he may have in a savings account, etc. are counted toward him not being considered eligible for a PD. However, what is sad in this case, is everything (most likely) also belongs to his wife. Hopefully they (wife and children) aren't punished for his deeds and necessity for an attorney.

I think if Breeann was in any of the pics, Morgan would have had additional charges as well, after looking through the statutes.

After two weeks in the water/elements, I hope there is evidence to collect and he is nailed for every single atrocity he inflicted upon little Breeann. The fact that they are asking for his DNA is encouraging darned POC...

Sometimes they liquidate their assets. He could transfer it over to his wife or someone else to get around that. I guess they could also freeze his assets, but probably won't. I think martial property is 50/50.
