I believe the judges get elected and he lost the election & the newly elected judge was assigned to his case. I just hope it moves along soon & faster. I picture SM a pain in the a for the courts and his lawyers. Don't know why other than he had a threatening temper towards coworkers per MSM & docs, towards a little innocent girl in the neighborhood and several homes in the family seem to go poof (he was in jail when his home poofed). I am so glad his ex-wife & children are somewhere safe and away from him.

Now let's get this trial on the way fast!

So I'm having trouble following the updates - what is the date that this ... Person's ... Trial is to finally begin?

Gardenlady, no clue when it will begin, but I kinda think there will be a deal for life in prison. We'll see.

Dr Know?, I checked about that election. Apparently Judge Sharp had announced his retirement last Feb, so they have known he was leaving. Perhaps that is the reason for the last postponement... wasn't the trial supposed to be mid-December?

If he confessed, why is there a trial? Is he claiming insanity or trying to take back his confession?

Thanks Amanda. I assumed it was due to the election. I wuz wrr.on...g. Well, that was easy. ha ha!

It's moving slowly along. Sounds like he or his lawyers want to take back that confession but honestly all I have to go by are the docket entries. I'm not finding blow by blow news on his case.

I'm not getting emails from this case, system fail or it is me, who knows...

But, how frustrating... I wonder why Sokoloff wants a new judge already? I really wish the local news cared about this story, even a little.

The last MOVANS notice I received via email was when Shawn was moved for court 12/13/13. I don't think he needs to be present when they are filing motions & announcing Judge changes etc...I just check Case.net periodically for docket updates. We should get emails for his next court date though.

To me they are arguing what will be allowed in as evidence & trying or tried to supress his "confession". I wish they'd just get on with it already! He needs to go to prison and we'll see if the death penalty is announced finally or not.

O/T We have a death row inmate here up for execution who was sentenced 27 years ago...not sure how effective that is. It's a heck of a cost for all the appeals etc...DP doesn't equal swift justice.

I recieved a Movan's notice yesterday morning via email telling me this creep would be moved 2/13/13 for court. Did you get one Amanda? I can copy and paste it tomorrow if needed. They did transfer his case from 8/13/11 to a case dated 12/2/11 @ casenet.com.
