*Case Review Hearing for both (@ 8am CT) – MO – 4 children (3 girls & 1 boy, ages 5 to 12 locked in small windowless boxes discovered 8/7/18, Farmington) – *Laura Elizabeth Cheatham (38/now 43) (adopted “mom”) arrested & charged (8/7/18) with 5 counts of endangering the welfare of a child & 3 counts of 2nd degree kidnapping. Plead not guilty. $500K bond; bond reduced (8/28/18) to $250K. Posted bond (9/14/18) w/GPS monitoring with restrictions. St. Francois County-
Cheatham posted $250K bond on 9/14/18 & released with GPS monitoring & restrictions that she not have any contact with the children.
*Daryl Justen Head (38/now 43) (mom’s bf) arrested & charged (8/7/18) with 5 counts of endangering the welfare of a child & 3 counts of 2nd degree kidnapping. Plead not guilty. $500K bond; bond reduced (8/28/18) to $250K. Posted bond (9/10/18) with no GPS monitoring or restrictions. St. Francois County

Trial was set to begin on 3/26/24 thru 3/28/24 but was vacated & will begin on 2/3/25 (thru 2/7/25).

3/18/24 Update: Hearing on 3/18/24 was cancelled & trial on 3/28/24 was cancelled. Case review hold. By agreement of the parties, cause taken up in Washington County, State appears by Prosecuting attorney John James & assistant Prosecuting attorney Caleb Aponte, defendants Cheatham & Head appeared in person by Counsel TJ Hunsaker. By agreement of the parties, jury trial set on 3/26-28/2024 is taken off. Cause passed to 4/15/24 at 9am for re-setting trial date with Judge Wendy Lynn Wexler Horn.
4/15/24 Update: Trial setting hearing held. Judge Wendy Lynn Wexler Horn presiding. State appears by Prosecuting Attorney John Jones & Assistant Prosecuting Attorney Caleb Apointe, Defendant does not appear but by Attorney T.J. Hunsaker. Case set for Jury Trial on 2/3/25 thru 2/7/25 @ 8:30am. Next Case review hearing on 11/25/24 @ 8am.
