Identified! MO - Christian Co., human remains in woods, Aug'11 - Jeffrey Pinegar

Christian County Sheriff Joey Kyle said human remains have been found behind Clever High School near a walking trail. Kyle said the remains, which were found before 11 p.m. Monday, are likely that of a male, based on clothing, but no identification has been made.

Based on composition, Kyle said it’s likely the body has been there for about 4-5 months.

Christian County Sheriff Joey Kyle said law enforcement is trying to identify the human remains of what they believe is a white male between 40 to 50 years old found behind Clever High School last night.

Kyle said although identification was found on the remains, they’re not releasing that information until a positive identification can be made using DNA or dental x-rays.

Four months ago, on April 13, investigators were looking for the man who robbed the Family Pharmacy in Clever. Investigators soon released the mugshot of a man with a lengthy criminal record. They said Jeffrey A. Pinegar was a suspect in the robbery. KSPR News spoke with his family tonight. Two members said they fear the remains are his.

"They told me what the ID said and it was my dad, and they told me what he was wearing and it was exactly what he was wearing (the last time he was seen)," she said.
