Todd Combs, 42, of the 7800 block of LaBelle Street in Affton, was charged Wednesday for providing alcohol to his 12-year-old stepson before the boy's drowning death in the Meramec River. He also is charged with providing alcohol to six other minors during an Aug. 5 outing at Pacific Palisades Conservation Area near Eureka.

The part that also gets to me is:

Fox2 also made a legal request to Saint Louis County Police asking for all calls to Step-Dad Combs’ address. A printout lists 24 calls in 2011 and 2012 for things like “peace disturbance” and “domestic.”

A man accused of providing alcohol to minors, including his 12-year-old stepson who drowned in the Meramec River, pleaded guilty Thursday to seven counts of second-degree child endangerment.

Todd Combs, 43, will be sentenced June 24 in St. Louis County Circuit Court on the charges, which are all misdemeanors. Prosecutors said it was not part of any plea bargain.

Todd Combs was sentenced to a year in jail and on the first count and one year concurrent on each of the remaining six counts. However, because those sentences are concurrent, Combs will only spend one year in jail. He will serve two years of probation upon his release.
