GUILTY MO - Danial & Linda Rinehart for incest, death of newborn, Harrisonville, 2004

I am beyond ticked. the 🤬🤬🤬 mother should be charged with everything the father is charged with. This poor child was raped continously from the time she was 13. She had four children all about a year a part. It also states these monsters had four girls. Did he do this to any of the other daughters? i seen his pic. He is disgusting looking. I feel so bad for this girl. They delivered her babies that means there's a good chance this poor child did not even get pain killers. What is this country coming too.!!!

In the article it did say that LE said there could be further charges to come.

There is no way in heck that three of these babies were stillborn imo. I think he made her carry them to term all by herself without any medical care. If she had gotten an abortions then he knew a record of the pregnancies would have been known. I think he and her mother made her have these children and he mostly likely, shortly after their birth, smothered them and stashed them in the coolers. She may have talked him into keeping one of the babies as long as it could be said that the child had come from another male.

It shows just what some children have to endure and it is revolting and so heartbreaking. I am glad she got up enough courage to tell someone.

But smothering such a small tiny baby rarely leaves forensic evidence to determine that, by the ME.

imo

According to the mother, the first baby was born on March 24, 2004 and died July 8, 2004. She said her father assisted her with the birth.

According to Sheriff Dwight Diehl, authorities believe that the child born in Oklahoma is buried on an Indian reservation.

One of the others died within 3 months on pneumonia and the last was stillborn.

I want to see if there are documented records of their deaths and that one of them died of pneumonia. Only a doctor who saw the child can diagnose pneumonia.

in one of the links it states that the baby became ill with a respistory infection and they treated it with over the counter medicines...they did not take the baby to the dr. and they are saying it had pneumonia and passed away.....if they wouldnt take the daughter the hospital to have a baby they certainly are not going to take an incest baby to the dr....the slimballs!
another thing I dont understand is the video of the 2 daughters stating they were told not to tell and they were scared of their dad...im sure thats all true but why now? something just seems off about their interview.

The mother said that she knew what was happening but she really wanted a baby boy. That said, I wonder if the three babies that are dead were girls?

Mo. girl: I was tired of my dad abusing my sister
By ANDALE GROSS Associated Press Writer
HARRISONVILLE, Mo. — The sister of a girl who was allegedly molested and impregnated four times by their father says she waited until she turned 18 to come forward because she was afraid of being placed in state custody.

"My dad was doing all this crazy stuff," the 18-year-old told The Associated Press in an interview Thursday. "I got fed up with it until I finally ran my mouth. ... I couldn't see my sister suffer anymore. That's why I wanted her out."

She said her sister, now 19, was 13 when their father started molesting her. The 18-year-old said her sibling confided in her about the abuse after becoming pregnant the first time.

"But I already knew," she said.

...A cousin of the suspect's four daughters said the girls were afraid of their father and that's why none of them sought help sooner.

"He threatened to kill them if they ever said anything," she said Thursday. "They were petrified."

I think this sort of explains why the sister waited all those years....

The sisters were interviewed on JVM last night. They were quiet and reserved. It broke my heart to listen to them because I could see the trauma in their eyes. One of the girls chest, right up under her neck, turned cherry red as she was relating some information to JVM. It caught my eye. I've only seen that happen to people that were under extreme stress.

I hope that all the children involved can heal and move forward and live without shame and guilt. I would imagine that there is a lot of guilt carried by those children. Guilt for not saying something sooner, even if it meant losing their life. My heart and prayers are with them.

Rinehart incest-murder trial begins
Posted on Mon, Apr. 19, 2010 12:21 PM

On the first day of her fatherÂ’s trial, Ashley Rinehart tearfully told a Cass County court today of an incestuous relationship with her father, resulting in four babies.

The 20-year-old woman said her father began having sex with her when she was 5. Her grueling testimony lasted a couple of hours, with several breaks.

Danial Rinehart, 49, is charged with second-degree felony murder, statutory rape and two counts each of child endangerment, incest and abandonment of a corpse.

HARRISONVILLE, Mo. --

Danial M. Rinehart
There was emotional testimony Monday in the trial of a man accused of killing one of the children authorities said he fathered with his teenage daughter.

snip

Then his daughter, Ashley Rinehart, now 20, took the stand. She broke down almost immediately as the prosecutor asked her questions regarding the abuse at the hands of her father.

She testified that her father began to have sex with her when she was 5 years old. She also testified about the deaths of three of her four children.

Excellent, highly affecting KC Star article about the family, from Jan. '09:
Girls talk of life on the run with incestuous, abusive father

HARRISONVILLE, Mo. — The Rinehart sisters never had real beds.

Or dressers. And certainly not computers and posters on the walls like a lot of teenage girls.

No room for any of those in an overhead camper. And that's where they lived for much of their lives as their father, accused last week of incest and murdering a baby, kept the family moving from town to town. Their mother was along, too, but authorities say she did little to stop the abuse.
---
During the time at the farm, Hayley said, she was confined to the camper, which was parked in a shed behind locked gates.

It was her job to take care of the disabled sister and to keep the little boy out of sight from her grandparents.

Her grandmother was not allowed in the shed. Her grandfather died in 2005.

Hayley remembers the night Terri snuck her some food.

"It was cold that night, and she brought out some ramen noodles," Hayley said. "She could have got in a lot of trouble, and that's why I love my sister so much."

Shaken woman tells story of incest, babiesÂ’ deaths in Rinehart case
Posted on Mon, Apr. 19, 2010 11:55 PM

It was wrong having a baby with her father, the girl knew, but when Jack was born, she loved him as a mother should.

She tried to keep him warm in the overhead camper — the family’s home — when the 4-month-old got sick and wheezed that cold January. When baby Jack ran a high fever, she pleaded with her father for a doctor.

“I stayed up with him for two nights,” Ashley Rinehart, now 20, tearfully told a Cass County court Monday on the first day of her father’s trial.

“I just dozed for a few minutes, and when I woke up he was dead in my arms.”
---
Investigators say the first baby, Ethyl, was born in 2004 and buried in Oklahoma. Ashley was 14 at the time. The second, a boy, now 4, survives.

The last two babies were the remains found in the coolers. The jury saw graphic photos of the containersÂ’ contents, bones and infant toys.

During her time on the witness stand, Ashley told how she buried Jack with a little stuffed bear, a Hot Wheels truck and a stocking cap with “Touchdown” on it.

The last baby, a girl, Goldie, was born April 6, 2008. Ashley had gone into labor while painting her fatherÂ’s race car.

Goldie died soon after birth

Man Says Daughter Wanted Sex With Him
Molestation Started When Girl Was 5, She Testifies
BILL DRAPER, Associated Press Writer
POSTED: Monday, April 19, 2010
UPDATED: 8:59 pm EDT April 19, 2010

HARRISONVILLE, Mo. -- A man accused of molesting his daughter beginning when she was 5 years old and impregnating her when she was a teenager admitted to detectives that he had sex with her and said he felt it was sometimes her idea. :furious: :furious:

In a three-hour interview with police, the 47-year-old Cass County man said his daughter, who is now 20, sometimes initiated sex with him. The interview was recorded on video and was played for jurors Monday on the first day of testimony in the man's trial.

In the video, a detective asks him why he thought his daughter wanted to have sex.

He responded: "By the way she acts," he said. "She would rub my shoulder or my back, and I could just tell."
