Back on 8/17/21 from my notes:

8/17/21 Update: State appears by Assistant Prosecuting Attorney Loesch. Defendant excused but by Attorneys Finney & Vodnansky. Case set for 5 day jury trial Sept 15-16, 2022 for Voir Dire selection & Sept 19, 2022 for jury trial at 9am. Counsel to appear at 8:30am to resolve any remaining pretrial matters. It is the Court's preference that Motions in Limine not be held until the morning of trial. Pretrial set for 9/13/22 at 3pm. Defendant must appear in person & failing to do so she should expect a no-bond warrant to ensure her appearance at trial when same is rescheduled. State to notify victims as may be required by law.

They set a pretrial hearing 9/13/22 - but this was when the trial was set to start on 9/15 with jury selection. Wondering IF that date - 9/13/22 - is still good?

Wednesday, July 20th:
*Preliminary Hearing (Damage) (@ 9am CT) - MO – Darnell S. Gray (4) (missing Oct. 25, 2018, Jefferson City, found Oct. 30, 2018) – *Quatavia Lwoun Givens (26/now 29) (ex-gf of father) arrested & charged (10/31/18) & arraigned (11/8/18) with 1st degree child abuse resulting in death. [Dismissed 8/24/21). Indicted (12/18/18) with felony abuse or neglect of a child. [Dismissed 8/24/21]. Indicted (10/29/19) with 2nd degree murder. [Dismissed 8/24/21]. Indicted & charged (8/25/21) with 1st degree murder, child abuse or neglect, serious emotional or physical injury-no sex abuse, endangering the welfare of a child in the 1st degree, death of a child-no sexual contact & abandonment of a corpse in the death of Darnell. (No plea on this yet). Plead not guilty to 2 other charges. No bond changed (3/21/19) to $100K Cash ONLY bond. Bond reduced (9/30/19) to $5K Cash or Surety Bond. Out on bond 9/30/19. Rearrested 8/26/21 when indicted on new charges & held without bond. Bond reduction denied (3/16/22).
Trial was set to begin on 9/15/22 & continued to 3/13/23 (& 3/14/23) with jury selection & trial starting 3/15/23 thru 3/24/23. Jury will be selected from Pulaski County & brought to Cole County for trial.

3/16/22 Update: Hearing held at the Cole County Courthouse. State appears by Assistant Attorney General Miranda Loesch. Defendant in person & by Attorney Vodnansky. Defense counsel announce that counsel has a schedule conflict with the current trial date on 9/15/22 & cannot be ready for trial at a date earlier than that date. Counsel for both parties to provide combined available alternate dates of estimated trial length of 2 weeks & provide alternate dates for a 1 day pretrial conference. In February, the defense asked the court to dismiss the current indictment. Earlier this week, Judge Hickle ruled there are no changes in the charges & denied the motion. He also denied Givens bond. Next status hearing on 5/3/22. There was a pretrial conference scheduled on 9/13/22.
5/3/22 Update: Due to defense attorney’s scheduling conflict trial has been rescheduled to 3/13/23 thru 3/24/23.
*Charged (5/21/22) & arraigned (6/21/22) with felony damage to jail/jail property on 5/10/22. Plead not guilty.
5/21/22: Probable cause statement filed by William Thompson. 6/8/22: Arraignment was scheduled on 6/8/22. 6/10/22 Update: Defendant refused to come out of cell for jail docket, cause continued to 6/13/22. 6/13/22 Update: Defendant refused to come out of cell for jail docket.
