Unless she was frightened and lied? She was really young and it seems like the police were just like Ok runaway get a bus home now. It is so bizarre when viewed through a more modern lens......

This case is so odd, and I feel we do not have a good sense of the relationships any of the 3 who went missing actually had with one another. It sounds from reading the additional info that Jay met Jim on a family vacation to Florida. So how did Jeri meet Jim? Through Jay? How close were Jay and Jeri?

This is where my mind goes, nothing adds up and there's so much information moving on the real relationship between these three. If Jay met Jim on a family vacation this makes me think Jay could have introduced Jim to Geraldine at some point.. but this would also mean both either have extensive conversations through either phone (seems less likely in this era due to the cost of long distance) or through letter. I know TN wouldn't be extremely far from Missouri but it's still a drive and I question how often he was going to MO or if maybe Jim did live there and this simply was missed by his sister likely due to age.. though it's so hard to verify that kind of theory.. often when you're younger you don't think as much about these things.

I thought I would also add, I still think a lot too maybe there was some other sector to this case. It's definitely clear that this was planned in advance if they were getting money panhandling, but I also question that as it's very strange for a 30 year old man or however old Jim was again to be hanging around kids this young. Often traffickers or pedophiles would do something of that sort which makes me wonder if that was a cover for another way they had gotten money.
