One thing we don't know is what was done to Elizabeth, either by male/female, just seems that could be why they are taking their time and want to see that justice is done.

"White also declined to say whether calls had been made from Elizabeth's cell phone, which was found "very, very close" to her."

googlenews.

Good thing ATT was on the ball with the pinging.

So that would rule out a mental disability, if s/he were able to premeditate and execute this so thoroughly.

If they are charged as a juvie, then they get out when they are 21. What if a juvie is tried as an adult? Missouri has the death penalty. Obviously I'm not a lawyer. :waitasec:

In Missouri, if I recall correctly, juveniles are eligible for the death penalty if they committed the crime at age 16 or older. If this perp is 15, he/she can't get the DP in Missouri even if tried/convicted as an adult. I think he/she could get a life sentence though.

So maybe some psychopath young girl wrote about her evil thoughts and someone turned those over to LE?

Maybe Elizabeth was just in the wrong place at the wrong time?

This person fantasized about killing someone - thought it out - but maybe she did not have a specific target?

If this turns out to be the case - a young girl killer - have you all ever heard of anything like it?

Not me - that I can recall right now anyway.

There is this case from 1992 but not sure it would fall in the same psych category as "fantasized about killing someone".

What an awful week it has been........there is relief that both Somer and Elizabeth have been found but so much sorrow is heartnumbing.

Thank you to the locals for your input.....

I am thinking they would go to juvenile facility til they reach the ripe old age of 18.

This will not be a secret come Monday (back to school)! Every parent will want to know in that district as well. ( I know I would be all over this) IMO

I agree, but I remember when Brooke Bennett was murdered, her cousin that led her to that house knowing what was going to happen went back to school, to the horror of the community.

Well, I have to say that all this secrecy leads me to believe that the perp probably IS a girl. (JMO, of course) Do we know anything about the friend she was visiting? Does she have an older brother or sister? I was struck by the comment by LE basically saying they weren't going to comment on whether she was attacked on the way home. I sure wish we had more info. I'd like to see if this kid had a Myspace or Facebook account. I'd like to get a feeling of what this kid was like.

Edit: Do we know the address of the house that she was visiting?

Wow - I had not heard of that case - and I almost wish I had never heard of it now.

Horrible, just horrible.

It does go to show what girls are capable of though - evil.

My apologies, mommya, I have added a warning to post for others unfamiliar with the name Shanda Sharar.

No need to apologize.

Thanks for bringing that case to my attention.

OT - is Somer's thread shut down?

I know there was some stuff going on on there - and now I can't access it.

TIA.

What I remember reading about the address of the girl she was visiting was in the 600 block of Rte D/Lomo Dr. Another sleuther identified there are only two owners listed in the 600 block. Let me see if I can find a link.

It's odd that they haven't said too much about the friend she was visiting and the family. I just can't stop thinking it was the older sister of the friend.

  • #176

I don't think that 600 block it quite right. I'm thinking it's that small group of 5 houses in the 200's. That would make sense that she was walking through the yards.

Does anyone remember where someone was trying to guess the mother name in the first thread? It P something. I want to try to map it out.

I would go over there and see for myself, but you can't get within a mile of that area right now.

  • #177

I was just looking at that map! The two houses at 600 were built in the 60's and the local poster (forgive me I forget her name) said the friends house was new. So maybe those maps aren't quite up to date. Besides, if it's grandparents, chances are the kids don't share the same last name.

Mom is PP, but I bet she rents. Just guessing.

Thank you, Jules71. I did a search but it looks like both homes were built in the 60's. The house we were looking at yesterday was a newer home that you couldn't see from satellite pics...only when you looked at street level pics. It was a large, white home that was set back from the street a bit. I'll go find my post with the picture of the house & post the link here. BRB
