Just got home from the hearing this morning. I sat with W8nC. We both got passes to go back to the 1pm hearing this afternoon, which is only open to those of us who were there this morning.

Jodibug: Please go back a page and read the post I made regarding the info you gave me this morning to ensure that everything I posted is accurate. Some may need some clarification. Thanks. Wish I could be there at 1 with ya!

I wonder if they will let cameras in at the 1pm hearing since it's no longer a juvenile case??

Ok, maybe I need to clarify! I do NOT have my hands on the documented proof yet. I just heard of this possible documentation this morning as I was NOT aware of it a couple days ago when I rec'd the info. Also this proof does NOT connect AB to Currie in any way shape or form, nor do I have any evidence of the connection. Actually all of us have access to this information...it is public information. My info just proves the NT, media, & police are covering up some information IMO should be disclosed.

Are you talking about the police report for Mr. Currie's death? Yah that's public record. But if that doesn't connect the suspect and Mr. Currie, what's the point? I'm confused.

Just got off the phone with Jodibug, who has been (needlessly) outside the courthouse since midnight last night to ensure she got in. Per Jodibug: Those who were there this morning were given a pass to return at 1 p.m. for some kind of criminal hearing with ab. She did say that the 2 graves were confirmed, and that ab admitted one was specifically for Elizabeth, although there was no provocation at all on Elizabeth's part. AB also verified that she just wanted to know what it felt like...

*** This information was relayed to me by Jodibug (my sister) who has just left the courthouse following the certification hearing. *** I'm sure she will be here soon to update you all more thoroughly.

I just want to give a big THANK YOU to Jodibug for doing whatever she had to do to ensure getting in there. I would have been there right behind you. I am known for getting in line early.

There is a bit more to it. The other part of it is what Tricia is not wanted posted.

Websleuthers -- wow, you guys are good! I've been following this story here since it broke and within days sleuthers on this site figured out AB was probably the suspect (even with the very limited coverage). I followed the breadcrumbs left by the more experienced sleuthers...
This is a sad, shocking case -- justice for Elizabeth.

Thanks MominJC -- if I had a hint on what on earth I was looking for, I might be able to find this information --lol
hmmn public info - not connecting the teacher with the suspect, but shedding some light on his suicide, and evidencing some sort of coverup --maybe I need more coffee lol

Question for those who have/had children in JCHS.

Are there elective classes? In my high school we had to take the basic english, math, science, history, language, gym, classes every year but we also had one class each quarter that was elective- journalism, health, art, etc. And the teachers who taught the basic classes also taught electives. For example the 11th grade American History teacher also taught Introduction to Research for 9th graders. So even though you wouldn't have him for history you could have had him in electives.

Is there something like that in JCHS? I know it's been said Mr. Currie taught Journalism, is journalism an elective class?

Well the yearbook and paper is more like an activity. It's a strange arrangement. They wanted to remove Mr. Currie in the spring bc his degree was not in journalism. They were wanting to put it in the business dept. But don't have anyone there with a journalism degree either. But Mr. Currie was reinstated. Alyssa would have enrolled in classes back in the spring with the help of a counselor. She would have been enrolled in an English class and probably still working on required classes and not electives. Plus, most of the journalism kids are juniors and seniors. It was stated today that AB was getting treatment since 2007. I think whatever is going on with Mr. Currie is strictly a school issue and doesn't have anything to do with her trial or even that this horrible murder could have been stopped. I think the focus is and should be on Alyssa. She was getting professional treatment and did not appear to homicidal. She was an A-B student with high IQ

Sorry, I did a bad job clarifying that information. I assume that was an investigators testimony.

KRCG never said if she talked in the courtroom.

But something concernes me,,and ofcorse, this is only an opinion, and I by FAR aint standin up for Alyssa B. But it just seems very strange to me that she'd lead the cops to the grave so easily. And admit that she dug 2 graves a week earlier. I heard on here,(or somewhere) "someone" sent a text tellin the family where to look, or something to that affect. And what "paperwork" or whatever the handwriting they got,,where did it come from? I might be wrong, and I hope I am..but just think about this for 1 minute.."what if" (here I go on the what ifs again,,but what if,,,say,,She was "caught up in something else,,"by someone else"? Doesnt it make more sence for her to "tell things"outta fear? Than just admit everything? Correct me if I'm outa line,If I am, I opoligize. I just wanna make absolute sure before I convict a girl,,or anybody for that matter, of killin someone. What if,,she's takin the fall for someone who "has" somethin on her? or has "control" over her? Ok,I'll stop before everyboddy hates me. I guess this is what bothers me so much about this case. :truce:

If she had no remorse, then I don't think her actions would be unusual. Very non chalant. Just wants to get it over with.

Alyssa is now in the Cole County Jail which is in the basement of the courthouse.

She was wearing an orange jumpsuit and full shackles. She was in a courtroom on the 3rd floor and spectators had to watch via teleconference from a courtroom on the 2nd floor.

They confirmed that AB's mother and grandmother were in the courtroom upstairs and that EO's mother was there, but the camera's never focused on any of them.

Alyssa did not show any emotion until she was arrested at the end of the hearing, which Greg White looked quite pleased to do. The "prosecutor" (not really, she was from Youth Services , there to explain why they were not the appropriate facility) broke down while trying to explain that ..... it was just an absolutely horrendus murder, and for no reason at all.

via twitter 2 hours ago:
KCTV5Newsdesk: Just talked with Christina Medina...teens in JC are handing out pink ribbons at the hearing for the alleged killer of Elizabeth Olten.

(my bold)

Ummm, is this a typo??? When I intially read it I took it as ribbons for EO but upon re-reading..... WOW I dont know what to say about that.
If this is true GOD HELP JODIBUG! we might have to pass the collection plate around for bond money! lol

No really, I know she was going and would have pink ribbons in hand to hand out this morning. Pink was EO's favorite color!

Umm I haven't gotten to read back far enough to see what this is about, but I made the ribbons, FOR ELIZABETH. My daughter, a friend of hers and myself handed them out.

I know you were there with ribbons in hand like I said in my OP! When reading the origninal quote by hellinor, the way the statement is wrote makes it look like someone was there handing out pink ribbons in support of Alyssa. That is why I said what I said...

NEVERMIND! :banghead:

Her attorney, Kurt Valentine, never once tried to imply that she was innocent. He referred several times to the "acts she committed".

His only "defense" was that "you can't put a 15 year old girl in Dept of Corrections, they won't know what to do with her" and that we don't know that she "can't be rehabilitated in five years, it may be possible and we have to try".

He said that charging her as an adult is giving her a death sentence (which would be fine with me!) because she won't be adequately protected in the Cole County Jail or in DOC (cry me a river!).

He also said that she has tried to commit suicide since her time in Prenger, by ...... cutting herself with her fingernails. (now who thinks that was a serious attempt???)

He said that even though Alyssa has had almost DAILY counseling sessions since September 2007, if we just kept her in treatment at the youth center then maybe the counseling would work before she was 21 because "you can't just throw away a child because of the crime they committed".

blah, blah, blah.

Well I am guessing the Cole county jail for now......

I understood she was immediately put under arrest, so I too am assuming that would have to be Cole Co. jail. And the new one is not ready yet. She is going to love that old one. Wonder what she thinks of authority now.
