Found Deceased MO - Ethan, 5, & Owen Cadenbach, 4, St Louis, 5 November 2016

I am curious as to how much time elapsed between the time the Mother called the Police and the time MHP issued the Amber Alert. In the case of Hailey Owens abduction and subsequent murder in MO years ago it took HOURS to issue the Alert, even though the abduction was witnessed and the tag number given. Hours and even minutes are crucial in cases such as these. Hailey's parents have worked tirelessly to improve the system in MO Senate to speed the process of Amber Alerts, to not have to go through the MHP to issue Amber Alerts.

It sounds to me like the mother called police as soon as he left her house with the boys and LE immediately issued the Amber Alert; he had a $100,000 bond out for domestic violence and had told his mother he would not be taken alive. Unfortunately, it did not matter how fast they issued the alert in this case. From the press conference, it sounds like as soon as the father saw/heard LE approaching he shot the boys and killed himself. He could have done the same thing if found earlier. I'm not sure what could have stopped this other than not allowing him to bond out of jail in the first place and/or his mother locking her doors and not letting him near the children.

"Later, however, Cadenbach began making statements that alarmed his mother. He said he “wasn’t going to be taken alive” and talked of “suicide by cop,” Cox said.
Cadenbach then left in the car with his children. Diane Cadenbach called police, who issued an Amber Alert for the children shortly before 7 p.m."

"Shortly before 8 p.m., a St. Louis County park ranger spotted the car described in the Amber Alert in Cliff Cave Park in south St. Louis County."

MO Amber Alert still cumbersome and out of date. How long between report e-mailed to MHP and issuance?

This new St Louis Dispatch article is a lengthy interview with the mother of the boys. It also shows that the authorities knew at noon on Saturday what a powder keg the husband was. I just can't help but to believe that something(s) slipped through the cracks on this one.

“I think that he snapped and knew that he was facing a lot of jail time," Sartorius-Cadenbach said. “And he did this to hurt me, and I guess as revenge for me for pressing charges against him. He was trying to get back at me and hurt me the best way he knew how.”

"Days ago, she sent a friend a photo of bruises on her face. The friend sent them to the police. Detectives went to check on her at noon on Saturday, she said. Cadenbach was being sought on a warrant for domestic abuse issued in Franklin County, St. Louis County police have confirmed."
