This case is older than me. Hoping for answers for the remaining family members!

Yes, DNA is currently in line to be tested by North Texas. There is a possible match to Sherri Lynn. WE are months away from having results. The family continues to search. The Independence MO PD has no resouces nor inclination to assist.
They MIGHT be better now in 2024, but don't hold your breath.

BUMPING this for all invested 2-28-2024: May justice prevail, and the families invested in the case find closure and peace.

There is so much being done with forensic genealogy I was wondering if the DNA we have for Freda's family and Henry's older children have been used in this way? To maybe get hits through Ancestry and 23andme? I am on one site and my sister on another. We are getting connections for people out of nowhere and had no idea our relatives had other children. If Sheri and Michael are alive, but under different names that might be a way of finding them? I know it's grasping at straws but this case is so tragic. If the landlord hadn't said anything would anyone have known they were missing?

@othram . sending yet another suggestion...no idea what material might be available from 1974!

Thanks!

I'm convinced that Henry killed Freda (hence the blood), grabbed the children, dumped Freda's body somewhere and left with the two children... that's perhaps what his fellow prisoners think... .
But what was his motive? Was he going to rat him out for forging checks?
And, if he killed her and left with the kids, where are the kids now?... living somewhere with a new name and a past they've forgotten?... I mean, I don't remember much from when I was 4 years, but I'd like to think I'd remember both of my parents if I somehow ended up being raised solely by Dad...
Also, was it easy to change your name and get new documents in the 70s?
This is another case that goes around and around without any answer...
either way
rest in peace
