Gary Lee Brumley is not in any of the missing person's databases but there is no record of him after 1984.

Vehicle Description: Red and white 1984 Ford 4-wheel drive truck (recovered in Cuba, MO in March 1985)
Circumstances: Gary Lee Brumley was last seen leaving his family's home in Eldon, Missouri to visit a cousin in Iberia, Missouri on December 16, 1984. It is unclear if he ever arrived at his cousin's home -- some reports state he was last seen in Eldon, while other reports state he was last seen leaving his cousin's home in Iberia at 10:30 a.m. on December 16. Brumley was reported missing by his wife on December 24, 1984.
The car Brumley was driving -- a red and white 1984 Ford 4-wheel drive truck -- was found abandoned at a truck stop in Cuba, Missouri in March of 1985. According to the owner of the truck stop, the truck had been left on the lot with the keys still inside the week before Christmas, but it was not connected with Brumley until the truck stop owner filed paperwork to acquire the title to the truck as an abandoned vehicle.
When a Missouri State Highway Patrol officer went to the truck stop to create the report necessary to transfer the title to the truck stop owner, the officer, who was a native of Eldon and was familiar with Brumley's case, identified the truck as Brumley's and contacted authorities in Eldon.
Unfortunately, police were unable to get any useable fingerprints from Brumley's truck as four or five people had been in it since it was left at the truck stop back in December.
Prior to his disappearance, Brumley was the co-owner and operator of B & A Liquor Store, located just outside of Eldon, which had been damaged by a fire in 1975. He was also involved in racing cars and dirt bikes and participated in competitions throughout the Midwest. In the years leading up to his disappearance, Brumley had numerous run-ins with the law -- including charges of common assault and malicious destruction of property.
Brumley's wife, Charlene, had filed a petition to dissolve the marriage in 1977, although she evidently withdrew it. The marriage was finally dissolved in 1986 following Brumley's disappearance. He also left behind two young children, a son and a daughter.
